i believe once EQ2 comes out sony is going to stop making expansions for EQ, but you know that prolly wont happen anyways they are expansion happy
I dont believe that for on minute. lol There are tons of people whom will not want to make the switch from eq to eq2 ans sony will do all that it can to keep these people pleased with new updates and whatnot. As far as I know, everquest will still run as a parallel universe to eq2...

I would be more than happy to make a custom patcher like winters roar if the Devteam stoped on one set of files. That way new or old players could patch to the right file set to play eqemu.

Winter's Roar patcher doesn't update your client to Sony's client side verison they are on anyway, just the specialized files they modified themselves if I remember right.

You might wanna run it again. There are a couple of non-custom files it distributes as well if memory serves me. I think Wiz even commented about their only distributing it from their site so if any fallout occurs because of it that WR would take it and keep it away from the eqemu project.

Yeah it patches all the custom files as wel as all the exes and dlls. If it didn't there would be no way new players can get on since the patch its compatible with was from Febuary.

We're essentially holding for the DX9 engine to be fixed, that's why we have a version freeze. We're a serious server with active raiders, and the issues the DX9 engine creates in many ways hit against raids (collision/texture lag).
