There is no patch, not unless you want to join a specialty server.

Do you have a router, Windows XP firewall or anything else that can block you?

I don't know what to tell you. Just yesterday I patched and now I play/host fine. Obviously I edited the eqhost.txt but other than that its the fresh patch.

Assure your eqhost.txt is correct:

Host=newlogin1.eqemulator.net:5994

That *should* allow you to log into 5.9 DR 1 and DR 2 servers...at least it does for me.

Ok, I was able to get online awhile ago without a problem. A lot of the servers give me 1017 errors but I just assumed that it had to relate to some type of patch.
