Do you have anti-virus software installed? It's starting to sound like an AV attempt to passively block the program from running.
|
No it's not in the task manager, I get an hour glass icon and then nothing,
|
yes, but I turned it off and it still doesn't work. Should I of had it off when I was downloading eq titanium and installing it?
|
No, it seems like it didn't interfere with either of those. Just make sure that it's not blocking the game from running.
|
Yeah, Like I said it's off right now, so it can't do anything
|
It could be the case that it's trying to start with an unsupported resolution.
Open up eqclient.ini in your Everquest directory and add the following commonly supported options: under [Defaults] Code:
WindowedMode=TRUE Code:
Width=1024 |
Ok, my eqclient looks like this currently,
[Defaults] Sound=TRUE Also, I am wondering now if it might now be something with the video card driver, it's an ATI Radeon 3100 on a Toshiba labtop. I just read about various problems with these, not sure though, since this computer did run eqemu just fine when I first bought it. |
Alright, so edit eqclient.ini to include what I've listed in my previous post and then try launching the game again.
ATI Radeon 3100 for laptops Windows 7 32-bit: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...b_win7-32.aspx Windows 7 64-bit: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...b_win7-64.aspx Choose the link appropiate to your version of Windows. If not Windows 7: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Edit: If [VideoMode] is missing then add it. Code:
[Defaults] |
So I should add the WindowedMode=TRUE above the sound true or replace it? and then add the whole other section including [VideoMode]
|
Awesome doing it now.
|
You may want to try getting that driver directly from Toshiba's website:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...t/jsp/home.jsp Click Downloads and input the information for your laptop. |
Ok I am going to try to download the driver now. The last thing didnt work either. Just to make sure, I am supposed to add the patchme to eqgame app, not EverQuest?
|
Right, you are supposed to make a shortcut to eqgame.exe and add patchme as a command-line argument.
In Windows you would do this by right clicking the shortcut and going to properties and appending patchme to the target path. |
Right, that is exactly what I did. Just wanted to make sure.
|
If nothing works maybe you should try reinstalling from the EQ Titanium CD's without using the eqemu launcher that you mentioned earlier.
