I was using XP and I realised the patcher wasn't working then, but I formatted now I'm using Windows 2000 Professional.

umm i just got my new computer and when i fully patched eq live i made an exact copy of it and renamed it EQEMU EverQuest. I downloaded the patcher and installed it into that folder above and now I can play EQEMU and live with the click of a few buttons...no need to repatch anything its really that simple. And why is this the only thread on the page with 4 pages? jeez this shoulda been resolved long ago

Dude, I didn't start this up to find out who can get EQEmu Patcher running, basically I started this so there could be a way to download all the files that EQEmu Patcher downloads from somewhere. If those files were all available on this site to download then there is a backup to everyone having problems getting EQEmu Patcher to work. Haha, we got to get some admins reading this and get their opinions.

Using the EQEmu patcher is the only way to get the files to you "legally". The patcher checks to see if you have certain EQ files and their dates so by sending you the files that way, it can't be warez because you already own EQ.

Now back to the topic.... i would take hogies advice on maybe you have a transparent proxy or some other interuption in your connection. Call up your ISP and ask them if this is true.


Dont bother trying to log in until the EQEmu patcher does its thing and downloads the "correct" eq files. if you dont, you will always get an error when you try to log in.

I wouldn't call it an error it's more "I can't connect" issue.

Oh almost forgot, yeah i'll try giving my service provider a ring see if they know anything about this "Transparent Proxy" thing. Thanks for the advice, Shawn

Shawn is right (whats new? lol, jk :D ), patcher is the only legal approach they can do, if someone hosted the files and let you download them, that would be warez and they can get in trouble with Sony, would not be good. I might have to give my ISP a ring to, I never can connect to the patcher, I just luckily found an old backup CD that had it on there.

So, I sent an e-mail to my ISP a few days ago to ask about the proxy thing, weel, it turns out my ISP uses one of those transparent proxy things.
Is there any way for me to get this thing to work?

Can't the admins give out just the required files to play eqemu, just the files that NEED to be changed. If they would do that, people without the game wouldn't be able to run eq.

If they won't do that, will eqemu catch up to the eqlive patch any time soon?

Also, I think maybe putting in an extra site, where you need to be logged in with your forum account to access a page where you can download the files that your EQEmu Patcher downloads.
