EQEmulator Forums - EverQuest 2

As I usually dont check the News forum, today was my first time seeing this topic about EQII and Sony's deal, so some of what I say will be a bit bellated, but here's my 2 cents anyway:

Sony is a company. They make money. They make lots of it. Which is good cuz EQ costs more money to manage than u think it does. Personally, I do not like Sony's deal regarding EQ/EQII, but it is perfectly legal, ligitimate, and reasonable. The majority of ppl at Sony, no doubt, r in it for the money. You cannot tell me that if u were in their position u would not do the same thing in order to make money. Does this make them slime? No. They r simply executing a marketing ploy in order to make those lil green things.

However, it is just that: a ploy. A clever one, at that. While it is easy to see through, some ppl have nothing better to do than play both EQ and EQII all day long, all will no doubt subscribe to it. It's part of business and part of the way our economy works. Get over it.

As someone noted earlier on this forum, EQEMU is a kind of rehab for those of us who were EQ addicts at one point in time, and I would just like to say thats exactly what EQEMU is for me as well.

Though I agree basically with what Trumpcard was saying in his post, I read this and was shocked for a second b4 i realized that what he probably MEANT to say was that capitalism makes the FREE world go round. The majority of the countries of the world r not capitalistic. People have this fictitious notion that the United States has everything all figured out. We don't. Though we r better on our way than most countries, we aren't there yet. On a scale of 1 to 10 , the free world so far is about a 4.....Humanity has a long way to go yet. But, whatever I'm just nit-picking.

Some of that latter stuff strayed off the subject of this topic, yet I wanted to comment on them anyway just cuz I felt they were important. I dont Sony is "some big evil conspiracy company out to steal all our money", but, just like every company out there, they'll gladly get their hands on as much of our money as we allow them to. This is not wrong, and only a bit greedy. You would do the same in their shoes, and u know it. If u don't like this deal then here's an idea: DON'T BUY IT
