Last batch. Then I'll upload the whole package when I get a moment. The .zip file has 152 loadscreens, so there's a few I missed when I uploaded them. These aren't a whole lot different from the ones I posted - they just have different angles and what not.

If I have some more time, I'll start on the newer batch as well.

azazel1944 for the last batch.
Enjoy!

Ah. Those are in your uifiles folder. You should see a file called EQLS_background_01.tga to EQLS_background_06.tga. Those files are all split up into 6 parts. Just remember to save each of them as a 24-bit Targa file.

Had more time to improve on the new loadscreen template. :) I was able to split up the sections and implement a bit of layering. :D

If there's enough demand, I could probably start on these new ones. They look so much better, imo. They just take much longer since it's a bit more tricky. I don't think I'll be cranking out 150+ of them in a day, rofl.

Edit: loadscreens are finally done and uploaded. Please read the CREDITS_README.txt before asking any questions. Enjoy!

Here's another. Took the sub logo out for usage. :)

Okay, that's all for now. Need to go play some Witcher for a bit and then maybe some EQ. :D

Some of these are copyrighted images that have been removed from other web sites for violation of terms, specifically loading screen art from World of Warcraft. Nothing to worry about for personal use but be warned for distribution.

vales 07-14-2009 11:10 PM

Well the ones I used are from their wallpaper section, so it might be okay for now. Besides, it's not like I'm making any money off it or anything, hehe. ;)

Yeormom 07-14-2009 11:34 PM

I know you have good intentions but Blizzard-Activision has been going after everyone, even those not within states of applicable law. Since a few of those even had copyright statements printed on the image itself, they definately have indisputable proof for action against the distribution of such.

Yeah, I'm quite sure if Sony still cared; they'd have a field day with you in court. Awesome work.

They love taking care of all their IPs. Plain and simple. :P

Even in the gaming industry, you could imagine the horror stories we had to go through just to get one little teeny tiny minor detail fixed just to print something with their name on it - even though they sent it the way they wanted it. Oh God, George Lucas/LucasArts was even more anal than them, though.

No biggie though. I'll probably just stop using their art alltogether then. It's not even worth the hassle, to be honest.

Sony has never desired to enforce their artwork unless it is taking away from their subscriber count since it is free advertising. Sony is all about the bottom line at the end of the day so skirt chasing with lawyers does nothing but take away from margins.

Blizzard has always been a company of pride so it's a completely different story with their IP. They actively crawl looking for their productions.

They should really go after those people who got Horde tattoos then and skin them. :D

So is there any way to make it select a random one every time you load or do you just pick your favorite?

Shendare 07-16-2009 07:11 PM

One way to have the loading screen randomly selected when you start the game would be to load with a batch file like the following.

Note 1: You would need to change your EQ shortcut from pointing to "eqgame.exe patchme" to pointing to your new batchfile.

Note 2: This batch file's coding assumes you have installed your load*.jpg files into a folder called "Loadscreens" inside the "Resources" folder of your EverQuest directory.

File: eqgame.bat
Code:

@Echo Off

Title EverQuest Loader

If Not Exist Resources\Loadscreens\load*.jpg GoTo :NotHere

PushD Resources
If Not Exist loadscreen.jpg.backup If Exist loadscreen.jpg Copy /Y loadscreen.jpg loadscreen.jpg.backup > nul

PushD Loadscreens

Del ..\loadscreen.jpg

:AddLoadscreen
For %%F In (load*.jpg) Do Call :CheckLoadscreen %%F
If Not Exist ..\loadscreen.jpg GoTo :AddLoadscreen

PopD

PopD

Echo Starting EverQuest...

Start /Wait eqgame.exe patchme

PushD Resources
If Exist loadscreen.jpg.backup Copy /Y loadscreen.jpg.backup loadscreen.jpg > nul
PopD

GoTo :EOF

:NotHere
Echo .\Resources\Loadscreens\load*.jpg not found. Make sure you are loading from the EQ directory and have the load screens installed.
GoTo :EOF

:CheckLoadscreen
If /I %Random% LSS 1000 Copy /Y %1 ..\loadscreen.jpg > nul
GoTo :EOF

Tested and working on Windows XP. Should work just as well on Vista.

If you're using Vista, though, make sure you're working in a directory you have Write permissions in, or have the batch file set to Run as Administrator, or it won't be able to copy the files around as it needs to.

vales 07-17-2009 04:38 PM

Awesome. Thanks for that Shendare. :D

I'll pack it in with the next batch I upload. That is, if it's okay with you.
