Do not patch to the latest eqlive client!!!! The April 14, 2004 patch will prevent you from logging into 5.5 servers, this is your warning! The next version we release will work with the new client.

My bro downloaded it on my comp i really dont think there is but is there any way i can downgrade like delete certain files? That and when is the new version coming out?

Not unless you have a backup directory of a previous patched version (Like was suggested from the beginning)....:(

Aye I should have made a backup and does anyone know when the new version is coming out? Any rough date.

Everyone should go to their Program Files directory and single click on Everquest and type these two key sequences: CTRL-C, CTRL-V.

Shazzam! Copy of Everquest appears.

No clue. It usually comes out pretty quick after a patch that breaks it, depending on how complicated the code is that broke it in the first place... But there is NEVER a set time it comes out when it is broken, being as the devs work on it in their spare time...:)

Hello folks,

May be a n00b question here... but... the thread says this:

I notice when I change my host, that there are two, maybe three servers that are 5.6. Will I still be able to play on the 5.6 Servers? Or has this patch disallowed us from playing on the 5.6 as well? I would imagine not, because, obviously 5.6 != 5.5, but just a question out of curiosity, as I have not tried it yet.

If you patch to Live I am pretty sure you will not be able to play on ANY server till they come out with some updated code.

I dont have room to backup my whole EQ folder....but if i wanted to backup to revert to a previous version which files would i backup? thanks

The big ones to backup are anything that ends with .EXE or .DLL. However, with patches, just about anything's fair game. :(

can people who patched stop asking for files or ETAs and packet collect? If more packet collecting would be done the devs would have more information to make a better emu. I patched and i know i will be packet collecting later tonight.

DO you mean patch to the Test server and then we can play EQEmu again? I hope that's what you're saying. I tried it though, and my client keeps crashing before I can get to the character selection screen.

idiot, he means get the latest patch for normal eq so you can test it on shawns server.....

by the way great job on the speady release devs, i suppose changes weren't too big?

YOu don't have to call people names, it sounded like he said EQEmu was fixed. It's not like I've been flaming the boards telling the devs to hurry up.

Somebody in the Emu thread was reporting problems after patching today. I'd say no.

It looks like a patch today may have messed some stuff up... If in doubt, make a back up and patch. You can always use your back up if it messes things up... :D

It is NOT safe to patch today if you want to use eqemu. You have been warned.

I have being playing all the weekend but this Monday i'll try to play but it was completely impossible, i press enter world i start loading then the music is cutted and i return to the list server, i'll try to play in another server and i could. In the irc people tells that i have to update my eq . Yesterday i update, and now i can't play in any server and all the configuration has changes, like for example the type of letter. I don't know what could be the problem ... Could you please help me??!!!

Yes, you'll have to wait until the developers update the EQEMu software to work with this latest patch. Last time it only took them a couple days. Shouldn't be too long I think...

I'm not complaining or anything; I'm just making an observation. I received an email saying that the new version was out and it was ok to patch, so I came to this site and checked out the news, and 2 messages down there was a message saying that the patch broke eqemu and the next version would fix it. The first message said version 5.6 released, which would lead you to believe that the "next" version was out and it was ok to patch.

To make a sad story short:
I patched and cant play, maybe someone can put something on the news entries that says not to patch to 4/21? The frontpage really looks like everything is ok to patch.

2 things you should ALWAYS do...

Always keep a backup of your Everquest directory.
Always check the forums before doing anything.

The devs have lives too and cant always update the site as often as im sure they would like to.

Maybe a stupid question more ...

I know that the test server is fixed because is the only server i can play ... but anyone knows any news about the EQUemu or other servers ... I know that people is working in fixed it, and that's great ... but I only want to know if there are some news, because I can't still play

You can play on any other server that is 5.7 DR2.

i just patched and can log into 5.7 DR1 servers just fine
