Cant create a char...
 

Hello, i am having a problem when i try to create a char on EQEmu servers. On the 2nd char creation step (Deity selection and town) when i hit Next to complete my character creation, it goes back to character selection and my char made isnt there. Can someone tell me if I am not the lone having this problem or is it due to the new EQ Live patch ?

PS : I am new to EQEmu so i maybe missing a step. :)

Depends on which servers you're playing on and what chars you're trying to create.

Guild Wars, for example, is Old World only. No Froggies, Kitties, or Ikkys! :(

While watching the output of World scroll past on my server, I noticed a few occurrences of the following messages:

I haven't seen that before. Maybe something changed in today's patch that affected character creation.

Ill check on it when I get home, but I think that may be the antihacker check our good devs added in.

Ill explain it this way...

Lets say a good hacker tries to make it so he has max stats. Now the system KNOWS what the starting amount was, how much is added for class, and how much freebie.


It takes the added points that of the character trying to be created and bounces it off an expected amount. If they do not match, server denys creation.

To verify this, can you tell me what the race/class yoru trying to create?

Nm its right there race 6 class 1... that is a Dark Elf Warrior

I can confirm this. I just patched one of my directories to live and while you can enter the world with pre-existing characters on 5.7DR2 servers, you cannot create a new character.

ahh, they just changed the char create struct, easy fix.

i have the same problem on my local server and when i try to connect to the big eqemu login server is there a way for me to manually create a character or is that far to hard?

Yeah, I also am having this problem, I can't create a new character either.

When I finish customice my char, and give it a name. Click on next, it shows the window that says updating char on server (or something like that) boots to "char selection" screen and my char isn't here,... can't enter the game. Why?... wich server works? i tried on 2 or 3 diferent servers (only greens), but ever give me the same problem.

No servers work with the ltest client.

What would u like to say?... and how can i know wich is the apropiate client version to play here?...

Well, since you are new here, the only version of the client you can get is the most recent one from Sony's patcher, theres no way to get an older version of it except to already have it and not patch. The latest patch made it impossible to create a character and the devs are working on fixing this, and since its pretty simple it shouldn't take too long. So all you can really do is wait til it gets fixed and in the future don't run the patcher without checking here to see if its all right.

yeah, most of us learn those things the hard way...

Hi, I am new to all this, and I read this forum carefully, but overall I still didn't see an answer on how to enter the world now.
I to can't create a char, tried multiple races / classes, and servers, and also each time i hit final next, i get back to char selection without the any availeble char.
Someone plz say in babylanguage how to enter the world with a toon plz...

You won't be able to enter the world untill the devs fix the issue with the new release.

I know this service is provided free to users and I think it's great -- I say this because I don't want to be seen as whining ungratefuly (as I do to, and about, SOE tech support :D ).

I was just wondering if anyone had any idea when this issue would be resolved? Unfortunately I tend to panic when confronted by a non-functioning program, so I've deleted my character on my favourite server thinking there might be a limit on the number you're allowed :cry: . Wont make that mistake again.

Not wining, just was really looking forward to this eqemu when i heard about it lol.
That we gotta wait now for that fix is just annoying, but nothing we can do till it's fixed lol.
What I do would like to know, what do I do to fix / update when the patch is made? cause I never downloaded anything to be able to patch or whatever...that I would love to know.

One or Two days should do it =) until then play all the charecters that youve already made till you get sick

Scorpius2k server has seemed to resolve this issue. Its also a fun server to play on. Check it out.
