15.

Of course, Denmark works like Mexico in reality: You're old enough to drink when you can hold a bottle.

Ademonde 07-26-2004 03:02 PM

Change of plans. Hawaii out, Denmark here I come!

rizzen04 07-27-2004 12:06 AM

drinking age is better at around 20 to 21 anyways. Kids cant hold their liquor so it just ends up being wasted when they barf all over the place.

Ademonde 07-28-2004 10:57 AM

I know 21 year olds who can't hold 2 shots of whiskey.

bloodgoth 07-28-2004 04:03 PM

You are the first one to jump on someone about flaming, then you turn around and do it yourself. You can be a moderator without being an ass...

Insulting your argument or statement does not equal to insulting you directly. Insulting an argument is valid whereas insulting you constitutes flaming.

sotonin 08-10-2004 04:23 AM

i heard melwin eats babies, fyi ^^

rizzen04 08-10-2004 04:28 AM

according to the Jargon Dictionary, the term 'flaming' originates at MIT1 from the phrase 'flaming asshole'. The definition of 'flame' on this site goes on to define flaming in the following four ways:

To post an email message intended to insult and provoke.

To speak incessantly and/or rabidly on some relatively uninteresting subject or with a patently ridiculous attitude.

Either of senses 1 or 2, directed with hostility at a particular person or people.

Guess you are right...heh

I guess I should have gone on to say that, in the United States, the way the laws are set and the way society looks at alcohol among minors, they make it out to be such a bad thing that alot of under age drinkers use it as more of a party substance rather then a casual drink. You dont see a 15 year old sitting down to dinner with a beer, they drink to get hammered. I cannot say that ALL minors do this but a good percentage do. I apologize for not being very clear in my statement.

Thats also not to say that many adults dont do the same thing, nor can I say that I have not been there and done that as well.

bloodgoth 08-10-2004 07:01 AM

O M G~ Melwin eats babies too?! I don't feel so alone. And that was a strong arguement Rizzen. *applaud*

Tons of adults drink to get hammered way up their late 20s. It's exactly the same way here, but it's not a youth-specific argument at all so it's completely moot to bring it up.

I have a beer or two with some friends after class occasionally and we just sit down to cool out, but behavior like that generally makes people view you like a drunkard much more than partying does. :P
