I had that problem until I patched to live. There was a patch on the 13th, I think it was, that I needed in order to log all the way in.
|
You are not unique in your problem, and I think the development team is trying to work on it. I know I've patched to live (hell, I've even re-installed the client), wiped and rebuilt the datbase from scratch 20+ times in various ways and I still get the issue. Specifically, the beastlord thing, too. At this point I think we have to hang tight until the powers that be can work this through.

Rebooting the server system resolved this issue for me.
Not sure if it's unique to each machine or not. |
Anyone got the ability to try to log into a server now? (I'm at work). I just rebooted my server (Zorpomatic) and have restarted the emulator.
|
I'll give it a shot for you.
Edit: No go, tried logging in, got black screen. Did anyone log in before me and cause you to get error messages on Zone.exe? |
I had to step away for an hour, and a couple of people tried logging in. It doesn' t look like anyone was sucessful, but there are differences in the error messages. What ID did you use?

Xothin - CharName Nedarian

I tried rebooting the server (was up for 37 days) and all the clients that connect. I was able to log into a popped zone without problem the first time I tried. However, on the next attempt I was back at a stuck black screen. Had me excited for a sec, but oh well. It looks like I am back to loading in unpopped zones for now.
|
Just noticed that I am having the same issue.
Reboot - works fine for one load, go to load back in, black screen. =/ |
Here's the output I got:
WORLD: Quote:

|
Code:
[Status] CURRENT_ZONE_VERSION: EQEMu 0.6.0-DR1 |
I'm getting the 0x037f, 0x037b and 0x01e5 on most of the login failures/black screen problems.
|
In addition to those 3 opcodes, I also get 0x02e9. In fact, after the group IDs are read, my output is the same as Xothin's above - except the char is different of course.
|
This is the output I get on each and every try.
I will give it a test and see what happens when creating a toon where I know there are no mobs spawned. Edit: Ok, was able to create a toon(iksar since I have no mobs populated on Kunark yet) and get him to load into the world. Then camp out and log in a toon that had mobs spawned around him without a hiccup. Got the same opcodes as posted above but this time it worked like it should. Strange? Just a little bit. ^.^ |
Make all your zones that have mobs in them static. I did this and it solved the black screen hang problem. Seems there is a problem in the current version with dynamic zones that are populated /shrug
|
How do you do that? I've done a search and didn't hit any real results.
|
In boot5zones.bat, replace the . with the zone's short name. So
start zone . cavedude.2mydns.com 7995 192.168.2.5 would become start zone rivervale cavedude.2mydns.com 7995 192.168.2.5 |
Just curious, how many of us that are having problems are using the NAT workaround? I am.
|
I have the problem whether I am behind my router or directly connected to the modem. That was one of the first things I tried.
|
Both my router and my server are behind the firewall. I had to do the NAT workaround to connect from inside my network.
|
This is also my problem. I have been unable to create a character and login. Any suggestions?
|
ok finaly got my server up :) everything is going great, got all the zones loaded up to oow, characters log in and play fine, full aggro, loot, mobs (all but the expansion zones) they actually camp out in 30 seconds instead of just disconnecting, all item charges are good, no errors in the world.exe or the boot5zones. thanks for everyone that helped me out. i would post the database, but its like a 72 MB file.
