Crash on PoP zones or newer.
 

Hi. I tried some searchign with no luck. Anytime I zone into any PoP zone or newer i crash. It acts like it is loading, but about halfway through the loading progess bar I crash. Any ideas as to the problem?

I am using the 0.6.1 DR2 database on a 0.6.1 DR1 server. I hope this isnt the reason.

I have no ideas but Im using(Or was using..LOL..Im using Heinz 57 version now!)a 6.1dr1 server with the 6.1dr2 database from sesmars tut and have had no problems zoning to any zone I have expansions for and Im only missing 2. Literally hundreds of empty zones.

ah so you had the same setup as me, ok i was thinkign maybe that was my problem. i also noticed all my PoK portals are gone, wondering if thats related or what. I wil lmess around with this when i get home.

Hmm? You should have POK stones in all kinds of zones. And they work!
I know for a fact there is one in qeynos2 and it sends me to POK. The Qeynos stone is missing in POK but all the others are still there and I think most of them are working if not all of them.

OK after further testing, it seems to be just the Plane of Knowledge now that crashes. Oh and the Bazaar.

Im going to try and delete those files and re-download them. hopefully i can fix this.

Dr Zauis, I dont get it, Im using the same database and what not, and i have no PoK stones, nor can I access the zones. I thought maybe it was because they updated the bazaar and PoK zones on live and I have the newer versions, but im still trying to find the old versions to test. Easy fix if thats all it is.

I have been everywhere else all teh way up to Omens and they work fine minus zone lines and doors and stuff.

Hmm? Maybe it has something to do with the client? Im using a client from way back when Krusher was running his 6.2dr0 alpha.
I dont have time right now but I will pm you soon and if you want to you can make me a status 200 for a day and I will try to go to POK and see if the stones are there. Otherwise i dont understand it myself. But its all there for me.

right now in my server status 0's have #zone so it will work for you


Is your server 0.6.1 or 0.6.2? mine is 0.6.1, im trying to upgrade to 0.6.2.

However, when i played on PEQ the portals and stuff were gone too, although I think they had the zone disabled cause it wouldnt even let me go to nexus or anything. but that was 6.2 and the portals stil ldidnt show.

And im talking about the books you click to enter PoK being missing, i dont know whats in PoK itself cause it crashes.

Sorry..I made a mistake..Got my clients mixed up. LOL.. Its a 6.1..And its a pre 5/11 version.
Even though #zone is enabled there is still a way to limit the zones a player can go to.(Im pretty sure I seen that in Database)
But i will check in right now and see..BRB dude!

EDIT>>>And yes the stones..They should be there in most zones and all but one in POK.

OK..I try to #zone poknowledge and Im not high enuff. I went to North Qeynos and see the stone there. I click it and it sends me to differnt loc but same zone. So you need to edit the status for POK.
I was using msql-front for this. But I found something thats free.
Its called sqlyog. I will get the link and edit this post with it.

And then its in zone table..after safe x,y.z entries..There will be min level entry and then status entry. You need to change pok to status 0 and I can try to zone there then.

OK I dont know if its necessary to restart server or not. I will log on when I get up(3am here!).
If I get there i will probably fall to my death LOL! It zones ya to loc 0,0,0 and POK floor is alot lower than than that. But If I get there Im sure the stones are there as I seen the one in qeynos2 just where it should be.

Hey..Your welcome..I found the link on this site one day..I forget who first posted it. Frak..I know I was editing with it but now i cant remember what I was doing. Im a total noob myself..More practice I guess.

Yo..Just wondering if you tried the prog I mentioned. Also try mysql-front.
Thes progs really help me to understand whats in the database. From what I understand they are windows based programs to do all the sql querys for ya.(all or most)Much easier for me as I have used dos very little in my life.

Anyway Im almost 100% sure if I had the priviledge to zone to POK I could get there. But if you dont want to use POK or any of the zones past velious then dont mess with it(zones table in DB) and status 0 users cant zone there.

Ok I installed the link up there, but I am not 100% sure I know what I am doing with it. I got my database open in it but where do I find the tables or whatever? Ive never done this so im sorry if I sound like an idiot.

On the left hand side is the treeview of the database. You can open it to see
the tables. The main view has a few tab buttons there but the one you want is Table Data. There you can replace a value. And then use save as to save it. It should be save but they made a mistake with the prog.

Ok, I found it, However none of the Planes of Power zones or newer are there, so I have to enter them all. Sounds like fun.

I dont know about that..But check this out..If you can get Cavedudes Database sourced..You can chage the tables in your Database. So what I am doing is..Say I want all his doors. I replace doors files from one DB folder to the other. Say I want his zones tables. Replace them in the folder..ect..
Its just like I said before with the varables table. I replaced mine with Cavedudes and I have alot mor options now..I dont know if doing that kind of thing is right but it works for me..

Hmm. Interesting idea. I am actually using his database right now but I never thought abotu combining databases though. I will have to play with this some more. as of right now it doesnt look like anyoen can zone into luclin or higher without being some kind of GM. I would like to have all zones open if possible. will do more searching when i get home.

What you have to do for that is go to zones table(I think) there will be an entry for level and status. If you make status for zone 0 then its open. If you make then level 10..Then only level 10 or higher can go there.

I see everythign your tlaking about, my problem is the table only has zones through Velious it seems in it. I will have to add any more zones it it unless I find another database.

Thats strange..I know the Database I dled had it. Oh well. Are you sure you checked the show all box? Are you sure you see them all? If so then what you want to do is inspect other DBs with sqlyog. When you find one with all the zones then all you need to do is copy/paste zone files from one folder to next.

The latest PEQ database has all POP zones. Just checked.

Ok I found it (Didnt see the show all) All the zones, minus the tutorial and CShome are infact set to zero so anyone hsould be able to get into POK and what not.

Are you saying they were already set to 0??? And make sure now that the level entries are also set to 0. I will have to try it tomorro sometime..Log in to your server and check it out I mean..

yeah they were already 0. But I found a fix for my problem I wil ltry to impliment tonight.

I have the wrong zone versions.
