Im gonna use my box to host a empire 2 server insted of working on my own since i lack the knowledge of c++ to code my own pvp code.

Um, you should probably contact someone who has the original spell files, because, well...once you get 20+ and have spells scribed...your character is completely bugged up. Please, ask Magoth maybe for the original set of spell files.

I have a couple toons @ 50 and I haven't had any problems with spells on this server.

yea this problem has appeared again, im sure its related to the spells_en file that the server uses, but if i change it the client wont be able to connect, i need magoths help, ive pmed him but hes kinda busy right now :) lets hope!

hah, as gobbe said that wasnt me, but anyway. Yea loottable might have been fucked up, but as you should understand we deal with atleast 5 hackers / day and trying to keep it clean is hard. For our next server thats gonna be live in 2-3 weeks we need to come up with a solution to get hackers banned once and for all.

This was probably a mistake since yes the loottable was fucked. I think ive unbanned you (we had a discussion about this)

Smedy, I forgot who, but one of the old server managers had a way to block out the BS offset. Check around the forums.

If you have a legit server, it shouldn't be too hard to find hackers.

if it's non-legit, hacking shouldn't matter... for the most part.

Either do it yourself or request a EQEMU Dev to implement this into stock code, I have ALWAYS wondered why it was never added..

IP ADDRESS BANNING, it would get rid of wannabe 'hackers'(MQers) like tranquiltwist because they are too dumb to change their IP Address and if they manage to, they have to go through the annoying task of doing it once again.

Warsaint got his macroquest from me and he is 70% of the different people you'll see using it lol.. Another bit of advice, switch to 6.6 or 7.0.. Only maybe, 2 people have macroquest for this version so they're SoL.

If you cannot learn to play legitly, make your own server and then you can type #summonitem and #kill on your community. I could careless what you do but it is your kind who destroy servers, I have had my share of doing dumb things but I do realise how truely retarted it is to cheat on an emulated server.

And so far this server is actually pretty fun. I was a little hesitant at first cause only Magoth has been able to run a great Empire server, but so far it is not too horrible.

So...

Any word about empire2 possible resurrection ?

we have had server problems and decided to bring it down as the hackers were roaming and ruining the fun for most people whos new to emu. Im gonna give "The last stand" a chance, if it dosnt deliver ill keep on working on my own pvp server, its more then 65% complete.

Sorry that we coulndt keep this up for longer, but its really no idea without having a system against cheaters. Next one will be better!
