Hi guys and gals.

Im wondering when the server Grand Creation gonna be up for play again , coz im bored and if the trouble gonna cost much time to repair.

Ill have got 2 friends ( rl friends ) who wants play with me , just both bought them firsts comps of his lives and them want play EQ with me , of course ill cant help if the server dont up.

For all those , can someone says me in how many days or weeks The Grand Creation server gonna come to the live ??

PEQ needs another reboot CD. Its not showing up on the Login Server

I was at a meeting, and yeah Chaos is correct. I'll always check PEQ first, and sometimes I don't even come here until later. No need to double post.

peq is still not up though, wherever you want to post it.

I have no access to it, so either the machine is down, or the connection has been disrupted. I'll have no info until I can get a hold of FNW.

I beleive that I have this in the right location, if not I apologize as I have been trying to get the run of things (only a few day nOOb to the EQemu scene).

I realize that PEQ svr goes down for its daily reboot between 5-5:15am EST, however, I tried checking in today at lunchtime and for over an hour now she is nowhere to be found!! Also, not sure if there maybe more network related issues (without knowing what svrs reside where) but the before mentioned EQproject.net (or is it ProjectEQ.net) website is also unavailable at the present time, hence why I posted it here.

Hopefully, it is a planned outage that you all are aware of, or that someone catches this quickly since it seems like it lives up to its surname! 8-)

Sounds ominous. Hope it's like the crash of December - crossing my fingers.

You must have full coverage insurance and a cheap injury lawyer. One call...that's all!

FNW came on briefly (he's away on business again) to let me know the host tells him they disconnected us due to a believed attack. We have no more info than this, and will not until FNW comes back. We won't be back up until he can talk to the host, and neither he nor I knows when that will be so please don't ask about an ETA. This is exactly all I know, so please don't ask for more details because when I have them, I will give them to you. Though, hopefully the server will be back up before another update.

I'm hoping FNW gets as much data from the host as he can regarding where and how the traffic was coming in on. I don't believe it's a traditional or even an intentional attack. We noticed that when we stopped the server, our traffic was very minimal, but with the EQEmu server up, we'd get huge spikes of incoming traffic that does kinda resemble an attack. Since it's coming in from the clients, it almost has to be some sort of 3rd party program such as MQ2 causing it. But, until I have more data we can't say for sure.

I'm telling you it's some absolute retard on a FIOS connection running bogus MQ2 scripts. Why has it taken so long to figure out the IP address of the person that is involuntarily dos'ing the server? How hard can it be???

Whoever it is needs to get banned even if it isn't intentional.

Glad I found this post, I almost created a new thread on the topic. Sucks to hear you guys are having issues Cavedude.

For the moment folks, I have been playing on the 4x exp/vendor epic/armor server. It certainly isn't PEQ, but it's a fun way to pass the time while I wait for peq to come back up. =)

It would have to be a seriously bad or intentionally written script to cause that much upstream traffic.

If you can get the IP, I assume you can get link that to someone who is logged in.

I can tell ya there's some people who just shouldn't be writing their own scripts after the countless MQ help for simple things I've given, so I could certainly see someones script being bad.

Either way, I look forward to the servers return.

Would be nice to have the PEQ forums back up in the meantime though.

I really can't imagine what you'd do in a macro/script that would cause such a spike in traffic. I hope it doesn't turn out to be MQ2 related because I'm addicted to a better /follow then the default one for boxing. (How many of my toons just fell off a cliff? /sigh)

Hmm... what shall I do tonight with no EQ? I'm lost. :(

I found a new server outside ... there is sun and rain like in EQ ... alot of merchant... some are crazy... and a ton of real people to play with ... i didnt find quest so far, but there is alot more skills that can be raised... its also possible to get money with ... a job. /shiver
