Why is Mortalquest still a green server?
 

As of now there are 0 players online and consistently below 5 players at all times.

How is this a green server?

BTW vz/tz has 85+ players on as of 2pm cst, so that definitely needs to stay green cus it rox

True story. Sever is dead and no GM's ever log into the server.

I abandoned it. I'm just waiting for Rogean to remove it.

I can't do both P1999 and MortalQuest. I know it's supposed to be removed. I don't even want it on preferred, you guys aren't alone there.

It was green initially because of the spike in popularity.

server is not dead we have about 10 to 15 active players everyday...this is a bunch of crap im pretty pissed right now....only reason people left is cuz they couldnt grief, it has a small tight knit community that Psykes and them are trying to build

the server currently is fine how it is there is no reason to bring it down...if you loolk at the log files there is a lot of us stil lhere playing and we are 50+ and contributing to the lower level players, dont abandon us....the only reaosn there was such a huge spike was because of the griefing ability...now that the has been removed the community will grow like it is supposed to

I'll give you guys the database if you want it. 15 active players is not enough to warrant preferred status, or moreso my interest in actively developing.

just cuz i dont post on forums doesnt mean im not active, this is Psykes if you dont know...and ive been here since day 1.....we currently hvae about 15 people that play every night, with new people coming everyday...about 10 people are in their 50's

im beating a dead horse, there is a lot of us in the community that have dedicated ourselves to this srever and getting people to join.....the issue here is Secrets you changed a lot of shit at beginning that drew in the hackers...the way the server is now, hackers dont like it whcih is good and why its smaller community, we dont need 100 peopple to survive, we are growing slowly

i do care, but im not a dev...but if server stays up we can get community to grow...server is fine as long as it is up...but if its down we cant do nothing, Im not saying I want to run the server, I just want to attract interest to it and try and grow the community and find someone who wants to do it

well i posted the source + db. it's up on non-preferred. ask me if you find someone that wants to take it over.

dont let anyone take it over, just leave it the way it is right now and we will as a community figure things out as it goes...we dont want 10million changes like what happened so far

I'd love to utilize the hosting space Rogean gave to you Secrets,to recreate one of my servers. Either Crucify PvP or Qeynos Vs. Freeport PvP. I know a ton of ex-players would love to play this server, I just need a reliable host so I can develop the server properly.

I know my server would get alot of support and they were both pretty popular for the short time they were up. Please let me know if this is a possibility... EQEMU is dying for a great custom PvP server.

This man is correct. The most glaring weakness EQEMU has, in terms of types of servers available, is its lack of custom PvP server. I have played every major legit/custom PvP server, including MortalQuest, since January '09; and I can confirm that Vile has put together the most impressive custom PvP servers that I've played on. If given the server space, I can say with utmost confidence, that Vile's server will excel in terms of playerbase, be competently ran, and will fill the void of EQEMU Custom PvP.

Me and my Brother would play this 100 % if it comes out. We are really looking for a custom pvp server with a active GM. Viles other pvp server was fun.

if vile's other pvp server was fun why is it not up any longer....asking to use the space for another server instead of what we are already have going kinda sucks and is kind of bullshit in my opinion, taking what we have so you can have yours.....we have to rebuild our community because of the changes that were made without testing 1st and the hackers that killed our server.

You killed your own server Kiera, stop being a little bitch complaining all the time. MQ is a PVE server now they should just remove the PvP aspect of it. There's a reason why the population died out. It's cause when a GM listens to PVE nubs for changes! Those same people who cried for changes quit when they got it. On a server like Viles FP vs Qeynos you can take off /who all zone you know why? because theres only 10ish zones to look for people. You keep saying the servers going to grow but as each day passes it goes down more.

im sorry but if whta you are looking for is guild wars...go play that.....pve is a fun part of the game and pvp is secondary, if you gonna quit cuz you cant grief lowbies then we dont want you anyways

changes that are being made...1) PvE damage to melee's fixed and 25% mitigation bonus & +50 base to all resists to melee classes to make them viable 2) Skill resets will go in line with levls you lost IE: you go to 34, you have skills of a level 34 not skills of a level 1....3) PvP open to the following 10-15.....15-25...25-35...35-45..45-60

No one quit because of the level range, be ignorant more pal. Matter of fact we were the ones who wanted a level range to be put it.

Now in your opinion PVE is the fun part of the game. My opinion PvP is the fun part of the game and PvE is what makes you stronger for PvP. If you make PvP fun PvE will always come no matter what. People will always battle for loot mobs. On MQ you cant battle for loot mobs! because you can't find anyone anymore, this is a fact. Those same changes you said that were being made has been said forever now. No GM actively working on the server = dead server period. Secrets said it himself he abandoned the server.

The point I'm trying to make here is PvP isn't fun anymore because you can't find PvP. Only way MQ would work right now if it turns into a custom server with 15 zones MAX. Otherwise turn back on /who zonename. Even when the server had 20 people on ( which was about what 4-5 days ago ) it was hard for me to find pvp.

If you want PvE that's what P99 is for go play that. ( i can play that game also pal )

Because EQ is a LARGE scale game. Your server doesn't carry a large amount of people "Fact". Even VZTZ with the amount of players it has right now 80ish every night if you turn on anonymous the pvp will die instantly and people will quit. You need 300+ people for that shit to work.

Why should you search 50 zones before you find 1 person? hey guys lets waste 2 hours of our time to search for 1 guy who will just gate as soon as you zone in. Makes alot of sense doesn't it?

what you dont get is EMU community is not supposed to be like live....a small group of people that are here to have fun not be 3L33T is all we want...so if thats what your looking for, go elsewhere

P99 tries its best to make there server live like. Look at the population! Look how well its doing right now. They have active GM's who actively work on the server to make it like live.

All this guy does is complain with nonsense about. "Go away its my server", "well if you don't like it o well leave", "go find your own server to host on".

My server is no longer up because I ran it on my cable modem, and the up time was sketchy since I have a room mate that likes to play PS3/Xbox online and as soon as he'd get on I'd have to take the server down. I didn't think it was fair to the playerbase to host a server like that and it wasn't fun developing on a server that would have to come down all the time.

That would not be up to me, and Rogean would probably have to sell you the space.

That being said, if I was involved with development and not player relations, I would be willing to assist you in developing the server, and it would be a possibility that my space would be used.

My only weakness is that I cannot and will not get involved in player relations. I despise them (the players) deeply, because a lot of them are whiny bitches.
I'd let you take in player feedback but I would let you determine what feedback we should implement. My talent is there, I am just lacking direction, and MortalQuest was proof of this.

All being said i'd like to see a custom PvP server. My server was too much for me to handle alone... so if you're the second person I need to give me a bit of guidance, so be it.

secrets+vile, do it.

Viles server(s) were great but limited based on his connection. Vile knows how to deal with the PVP community and being a PVPer himself knows how to develop a server which would be fun for the best pvpers as well as the worst. He's also very impartial when it comes to players, won't show favorites over someone he just met to someone he's played with on vztz for years.

Man this would rock, I've been waiting for a server like this to come out for a while now.

Secrets MQ server was made and the way it is right now is working well for a PvE server with some PvP, there will be changes made that I would like to implement, however this server imo is not to be restricted to a 10 or 15 zone limit...not something the people that we want to play with want either,

This is not guildwars and we dont wnat a server like that, I am working on this server currently to build a community and willnot deal with whining with the changes you want to be made. You dont like it, dont play here, go elsewhere simple as that.

Everyone has their own views on what they like, and now that secrets is not involved from a player relation status and just wants to DEV, we can get this server fixed to fit our vision not some Griefing PvP GankFest from the hackers like we had.

A server with all indifferent mobs is not PVE. It's not even dumbed down PVE, it's just laughable. Sorry to tell you.

Saiko, you're asking that the server be preserved, even though it's now a ghost-town with ~5 people online, when the space could be put to better use for the emu community. This just isn't selfish, it's inefficient.

Anyhow, a Secrets+Vile server would be great. It would easily be the go-to server for custom PvP.

really...why not let our community grow, why is it your opinion that something we enjoy is taken off and removed entirely just because you want the space for something you feel is better. We are willing to donate for server hosting and development, We are not looking for handouts or to take other servers space like this previous sugggestion was to take ours.

This is the last comment i post on this, we have great small knit community that will grow in time, we dont expect it to compete with another server or to be very large. But we also are not looking to take hijack server hosting space either like what is trying to be done to us

Stop crying! no one is hijacking "Your" space. It isn't yours, be happy he ran it in the first place. If they want to team up with vile they can. He posted the Database for the server. Run it if you want it it's that simple. The community would rather a server with 20 + people then 2 people. It's not what you only want. Your the reason he didn't want to deal with MQ in the first place. Complain so damn much.
