EQEmu Fix for 3.11

Here's a zip file that you can use to roll back your EverQuest if you patched it recently, it allows you to play on 3.11 servers..

Just unzip eqfix.zip to your EverQuest directory, and overwrite any existing files..

it may not work for everyone because EverQuest is just stupid...

i was under the impression that this sort of thing wasn't allowed on these boards, since you dont own the rights to distribute these files. hence why there has never been any such thing previous to this.....

Yah, weird... But if they wanna do it, that's their decision. Maybe the fix is a while out so they wanted to get people online for the moment? Who knows. Very ballsy, though, good job :)

Its laggy to the point of unplayable now, and cant use my keyboard with it, thanks guys gonna try regular eq and pray it didnt screw that up to. Yes I repatched back and did a file check to make sure, same problem.

humm eq patched to newer files so these ones are useless on there servers you need the full game to play so i see no prob with it.

ballsy? i doubt that. dumb. it's stuff like that that will bring legal action from VI or SOE on the emu. though, yeah it may be kewl that you can now play on the emulator, i'm sure the big guys dont care, and this stuff is just fuel for any fires they want to start.

not to be a jerk or whatever, but realize these are warez. noone involved in this emu owns legal rights to distribute the files. case you havent read the rules of the board, warez is a NO NO.

These guys bust there asses to fix shit that gets broken by patching EQLive and to solve the problem they hand out a few files to unpatch eq so thier loyal followers can use thier software and enjoy EQ without having to pay VI and all you can do is run your mouth about how it's illegal and they shouldn't be doing it....

Why don't you go play Live EQ like a good little drone and remove the url for here....ass

lol. i didn't post that to start a flame war. i was simply stating that it IS, no matter what logs you have from where, illegal.

man, since i first came here, all the devs and admins have been hard against distributing warez on the boards, which is why there's been no fix for patches before this. if they've changed their attitude towards that policy, then ???

and why against it? cause it would give VI and SOE something to fight the emu over. supposedly, emulation is the highest form of flattery or whatever, but warez is warez. sure, you may need to own eq to use the files, but i'm sure VI and SOE would see it more as theft of intellectual property.

if you're only gonna respond with a flame, dont respond. think guys.

We have a serious problem, that problem is ShowEQ, the developers are upset at the step SoE is taking to stop them. So they are re-releasing WinSEQ, if you are unaware of what happened last time this program was available to the public, il tell you now. Because of WinSEQ, Verant (Yes at the time), almost weekly changed the encryption because of it, until it was removed and left on Linux. But now they have to grab the key from memory, hence why they are releasing WinSEQ, it puts EQEMu in a very bad position.

understandable, but the admins seem to be contradicting their own rules. it just doesn't make sense to me. :(

When I run eqw after copying over these files....I get 2 cursurs text is all screwy and it locks up at login screen.

Any ideas?

It's an interesting time for EQEmu and SEQ. Major changes coming, will be interesting to see what SoE has up their sleeve.

I figured it out. Just copy all files over but the eqw.dll file. The it will work.

ok i downloaded this file and now when i go to use the eqwindow it disables my keyboard wont let me type anything like my password or anything.. how do i fix this problem ... TY..

Been working on my computers, upgrading and such, haven't had the time to setup the EQEMu Server on them yet.

i have 1800 dollars and im about to get my new computer, I guess I could try and setup a server on my old comp. Or run one at a lan center that my friend has thats t3 ;)

EQgame.exe crashes when I try to connect to a server.

for one, i dont understand why it would be illegal for them to just re release a patch everyone already had anyway, anyone could have posted that there, its not like it was with the pop files that werent even releasesd by verant yet and posted, all these are are just old files... right?

EverQuest.exe and eqgame.exe allows you to download all Classic Everquest files.

Verent / Sony allow you to download EQ classic :P
also.. you can download anything made by Verent / SoE off tehre servers, so i dont' see why people are complaining, if it goes against your ethics / morals don't use them...

5 bucks the people who say oh no its illegal have some sort of illegal mp3 or burnt cd of a program or music cd in there posistion.

I tried to "downgrade" my EQ with the files included.. Overwriting the files in my EQ folder, everything looks oki.. (And no.. i dont run the patcher so everything gets updated after doing this)

But.. nevertheless i get "Incorrect version".. Am i one of the "it may not work for everyone because EverQuest is just stupid..."?


Or is the "public" servers different from the downloadable 3.11 version?

I found that one of the mini logins was the culprat but forgot which one I used to get it to work after I did fix.

I think i might fall under that category as well. Everything works fine for me until I select a character, and then eqwin minimizes and knocks me back to the server select screen :(

Yea, I patched the fix on my directory with the EQ files and before it loads any servers, EQgame.exe crashes. I guess im one of the unfortunate people whom it wont work for. I hope there will be another release that will fix this problem for me, as I thuroughly enjoy playing this EMU, and I thank all of the people who continue to update it and make it more functionable.
