New Server Issues
I created a new server named "Nellie Server." When I log in to the tutorial, I am stuck and cannot move. My wife logged in as well and cannot move. The character can spin around, mem spells, etc, but cannot move.
I changed the character zone in the DB to North Qeynos at the safe coordinates, and he can move, open doors and communicate with vendors, but seems to be hitting a lot of invisible walls. I can't exit Qeynos and go out to the front. Have any of you had problems like this? Go ahead and try logging into my server. |
Before I set up the server, I was running Project1999. I thought that maybe their files were causing issues, so I reinstalled a new copy of Titanium. This didn't fix the problem.

Does your sever have rof2 client enabled?

I don't remember seeing that during the setup procedures.

I can log onto the other servers just fine. It must be at my server end.

Tried to connect yesterday, but I only have the RoF2 client currently and it was not accepting it.

PC's cannot move
I just finished getting my new server setup and after a little help from another thread I was able to log in but like the OP I also cannot move. A new character can move for about 2 seconds then movement stops. I found a FAQ that says to double check the applied mysql so I did. The walk-through says to apply all mysql that are dated before your peqbeta file. My database is the newest one: peqbeta_2015-02-13-02-01.tar which was compiled after all the individual sql updates and the walk-through led me to believe I didn't need to do these. I ran through several of them with varying degrees of sucess
These appeared to not have been applied: 2015_02_12_zone_gravity.sql (My hunch on why movement isn't working) 2015_02_04_average_coin.sql 2015_01_31_character_item_recast.sql These gave error 1146 (42S02): Table does not exists 2015_02_02_logsys_packet_logs_with_dump.sql 2015_02_02_logsys_packet_logs.sql The next several entries dated earlier than character items recast gave duplicate column errors. |

Thank you for the tip for the updates. Also OP running the sql gravity in the required files worked immediately. I thought I was going to have to shut my server down but that was not the case.

I just revisited this today. I ran world.exe, selected 3 then 3 again, and it works fine so far. Many thanks!
Now I need to set this guy up for a LAN access ... since I will be deployed with limited internet access, and will have some friends connecting to play. Wish me luck. |

Thanks. I got it working on a LAN. I tried enabling mercs using the following (http://wiki.eqemulator.org/p?Enabling_Mercenaries) but to no avail. I found another thread dealing with this, but it didn't fix my problem. I can right click the merc vendors, but it just "cons" them.
I also went into the DB and set the rules for mercs- Mercs:AllowMercs = true... there were a few records with this that I set to true. I restarted the server and it still didn't work. Was there something I missed during compilation? |
Did you set the Merc vendors to the right class? (71)

Ok, I checked the classes.h file and found the following:
... #define MERCERNARY_MASTER 71 ... I also checked npc_types and there are no Mercernary Liaisons or anything to do with mercs with a class of 71. |

I was looking up the wrong field when querying the npc_types. I ended up updating all of the mercenary liaisons to class=71 (they were class=1). I still cannot open a trade window with the mercenary vendors after restarting the server.

What Client are you using?

Darkhallow... that's what is stated when I check it... but when I got a copy, it was supposed to be Titanium.

Titanium does not support mercs, and you will not be bale to right click on the Liaisons.
Darkhollow is not a supported EQEmu client. |
