Could anyone Help me by chance please?
Ive searched through forums, and asked in irc channel. I can't seem to figure some things out... sorry if these are dumb questions, but
First, sometimes while playing on other people's servers... when i zone into let's say... Perma... it will be empty. Then if i zone from Perma to say.. Lavastorm, the mobs from perma will be in lava and lava will be empty ( with the exception of mobs from perma) in /who all and /who and even when i zone it will say im zoning into perma, ( even though im in or zoning to lava) .. this happens in all populated zones :( :( my 2nd problem is.. Im trying to set up my own server. I downloaded Zlib, and it says to install it... well. I downloaded it, unziped it, but there is no installer. I dont see any other versions to download. just the zlib114.zip. Third. For step 5. it says ""Add CVS to %PATH% Open Control Panel Open System Click on the Advanced tab Click on Environment Variables Highlight the PATH row in the System Variables Frame Click Edit below the row you have highlighted Add ;c:\EqEmu\cvs\wincvs;c:\EqEmu\cvs\wincvs\CVSNT to the end of the existing variable value. Don't overwrite the current value in there - just append to the end"" Im running windows xp... I go to system... but there is no advanced tab.. i been looking but is there another way to get to environment variables to do this?. one more thing... when i attack something on most servers i get disconected. no one else on the servers are having the same prob =( Thanks for any help. sorry again for dumb questions hehe i can't seem to find the answer anywhere though =( |
Regarding #1, some people have noted this as well:
http://www.everquestserver.com/forum...ic.php?t=10809 #2 Correct, there is no installer, just unzip it to the location as specified in the guide. #3 Is your XP account an 'admin' one ? Here is a SS of what the relevant tab looks like on my PC. http://www.rama.demon.co.uk/path.jpg |
im such an idiot im so sorry. Im at my brother's house atm. im not on xp. Im on 98.. so sorry about that. used to my computer hehe

Check A_Guest03's reply in this thread for Win98 PATH instructions:
http://www.everquestserver.com/forum...light=autoexec |
Start -> Run -> "sysedit"
Add this line to the autoexec.bat: SET PATH=%PATH%;c:\EqEmu\cvs\wincvs;c:\EqEmu\cvs\wincv s\CVSNT Or whatever your cvs paths are. Edit: bleh, too slow.. or do what the post above this says ~.~ |
ack! dont see how i missed that one.. Thanks a billion for the help =)

when I open sysedit, A white empty box for autoexe.bat opens up... I just type in
SET PATH=%PATH%;c:\EqEmu\cvs\wincvs;c:\EqEmu\cvs\wincv s\CVSNT In the blank space and save and close correct? |
