Error 1017

Im trying to connect to my personal server over my LAN and i cannot get rid of this error. I connect to minilogin fine. I am not sure what to do at this point. Dont even try to redirect me to the search page or tell me to go read because i have read about 20 posts regarding 1017 and that has help me 0. I just (not more than an hour ago) download and reinstalled the eqemu source and rebuilt the eqemushare/world/zone files ect. My client EQ is up to date 100% so i am not sure what my problem is.

apocalypse now!

Ill just go ahead and do a clean install tommorow....delete everything and start from scratch....we will see how that goes.....just to get this straight...the current eqemu sourcecode that we download with cvs is compatable with the current EQLIVE version..correcT?

Did you create an 'account' with mysql, e.g.

Quote:

INSERT INTO account SET name='eqemu', password='eqemu', status=200;

Then use that userid and password to login to your EQ client ?

Yes i added an account in there for me login in with...i used mysql command center and admin eq however....but it all edits the same database ...i just find a GUI easier

gah

uuughh Redid the server....everything serverside works...but my computer still cannot connect. I double checked my datarate.txt and eqhost.txt....i ensured i was using a shortcut to eqgame.exe with patchme......but i still get 1017 error and i dont know what to do. i can get into minlogin just no my server. I am frustrated so im going to go play some call of duty....killing krouts always helps! :twisted: someone HELP ME PLEASE!

my client is patched to live.............so after reading this i guess i should go try to login about 50 times and see if i can get lucky once?

or it could be an error in the binaries or a DB error or a simple issue with you not having the account written in the right way in the accounts file.

I double checked that my account was firmly and correctly inplace in the database using eqadmin and mysql command center both. damnit i dont know what is wrong

well....i have my problem fixed...my comp on my LAN can now log into and enter a zone.......but now i am having a problem getting my friends connected...they are too getting the 1017 error.....we are connecting using a VPN
