Cannot get past char select....
 

I've been having an issue on the 5.3 DR2 servers of when i try to enter world, ill sit at the big EQ screen for like 5 mins, then ill disconnect. I've only heard of one other person with this error, or problem, or handicap, whatever you want to call it. Most of the time this happens with my higher level characters that have gear on them(i mostly play on legit servers), but sometimes it happens with brand new off the assembly line toons as well. Another note on this, is if i wait long enough, usually 2-5 hours, i can get that char in, till i go to the wrong zone on accident, or go LD... anyone with any clue of what's happening, please post. There probably isn't a fix, probably have to wait it out... but any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

P.S. Ill list the characters i have the most woes out of below, if it is any help.

issue = the current EQEMU code has some issues,


what you can do = Give the Devs some vacation time for the holidays then time to get over the hangover, when they come back I am sure they will fix most of the bugs in short order.

Yeah, I have almost the exact issue. I figure it is because I have the Dec 23rd patch and so my only course is to wait till the Devs come out with a new version.

That is exactly it, the current DR was put out in a hurry filled with bugs just so people could play. Due to the holidays the Devs are busy (can you blame them for putting EQEMU down for a week or 2 to spend time with there family?) so everyone just needs to be patient.

I noticed that many times, before i get the disconnected screen, it's after a long period of lag, and I see a bunch of information, and it's stuff that i've asked for, chat, etc (not gibberish/errors) , but I remember how long the EQ screen would scroll back in the day on 56k...perhaps as the buffer tries to empty itself, it does some or all, but still triggers the disconnect?

Yeah it does suck, I really can't level with this crap lol, I can't even go to another zone with more than me in it without risking LD... I stay in the arena alot because noones usually there and when they get there I kill them :lol: not all the time but they usually leave and dont cause bad for me. I hope this gets fixed soon as I am anticipating kicking some :!: sometime soon!
