Why is it that the only servers i can log on are 0.5.5-DR1

Congratulations, you've motivate me to write my first post here. Here we have this really cool bunch of developers, who put together this site, the emulator, and the forum, and you can't even take the time to read and figure out for yourself what your issue may be? Give me a break. Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm willing to bet a dollar to a doughnut that these guys (the developers and moderators) don't do this for money, it's at the expense of their time, effort, and since webspace isn't free, money as well. It would seem nothing more than common courtesy that you could put at least a small semblance of effort into trying to figure out your problem for yourself. Who knows? Maybe you'll learn something, and be able to have some sense of ownership for your thought process rather than waiting for someone to spoon feed it to you.

This has NOTHING to do with computers. This (reading the posts with similar title, or GUIDE, or even One Stop Error Guide) (also referred to as common sense) is something they work on in first grade. They also teach you throughout your entire tenure at school that to learn you must read and study.... This is what my amigos are trying to tell you. Though Hic was harsh and I dont condone that sort of attitude even with the most dim-witted person (not referring to you). If you take away that harshness, you will see that he is saying the very same thing...

Please look at some of the other posts that may relate to what your problem is. If it is NOT the same, then you JUST might learn something about the NEXT problem you have, so you have NOT wasted your time. I have also taken a considerable amount of time writing an error guide and the admin was kind enough to sticky it. It is located in the General forum (this would mean that it involves many different topics). You may not find the answers to all your questions there, but there is a fair amount of common errors there, and links to threads that solved it.

Holy crap, give the guy a break, so he didnt search... No need to go homocidal because of it. If you havent searched yet, what happened was you updated to the GoD patch. Currently most of the servers do not support the new patch, although most of them soon will. If you do not have a backup of the original files before the patch on the 10th, i think it was, then you need to just wait. Although if you just recently patched to the GoD then you can run a system restore and restore your files to a date previous to the patch. Other then that you are in for a long wait.

While I realize that system restore in some cases will work to undo a patch, there is a misconception here. System restore does NOT restore old files. All it does is restore a previous version of the system registry. File structure and content stay the exact same.

You may need to work these boards (read support problems) for a while before you say that. When there are posts RIGHT under his and stickys at the top of the page, it is not a matter of using search, it is a matter of opening one's eyes. The defenition of support is NOT to spoon feed everyone a personal "How To Set up EqEmu", but to answer questions that are above and beyond what has been discussed in other posts/threads/guides.... And in this case, were he to go to the support forum, where this should be, then he would see that there is a PLETHORA of other posts JUST like this one... There is even a sticky in General Support, that I made that is a one stop error guide, and DOES mention that this is a KNOWN issue. This was not meant to be a flame, but to motivate people to help us help them, by doing some reading before they post...
