Lol Dills server went down for a "quick" update yesterday.....so I logged off, and sat waiting for it to come up again..... *** later ***
I try and log back on and I keep getting the 1017 error, So I try various dif servers....STILL the same. I come and check the boards... I try the server that can play the live version...just in case some dumbass at my house patched to live....well still cant log onto that one <same error> I can clearly remember activating my account, so it shouldnt have been deleted...hmm I can log into sum DR3 servers and what not....There doesnt seem to be any reason for me to not be able to log into a DR1 server right? Hell what does this DR1,2,3 stand for...im so confused haha eh owell any help would be great

DR is a Developer Release. It is for ServerOp's and Developers to work on. You have to compile them yourself usually, so unless you know what you're doing stick with the binary releases.

Patch fully to Live and try the 5.5DR-1 servers. They were updated again to comply with the Feb 18th patch. If you're still getting an error, see some of the other threads about 1017 error. Samandi wrote a very nice one stop error guide, top of this forum, which contains a good few links for addressing this prob.

If none of those solutions fix your problem, try going into IRC and seeing if anyone there can help you.

That is the way it SHOULD be, you mostly fixed it yourself by reading directions...... GOOD FOR YOU bigmike85... :)
