bad server name error 10053
 

I am having problems getting eqemu to work, the world.exe gives this message

has anyone had this before?


login server responded with fatalerror, disabling reconnect .

error message:'bad server name. unknown reason.'
127.0.0.1:5999:TCP connection::recvdata<>: error 10053

I am using thes files following instructions from the create a local server in tutorial forum.

mysql-4.0.18-win
EQEmu-0.5.2-Win32 :x
5.5DR1VSNETBinaries
EQEmu-0.5.3-DR3-Binaries
mw_052_053_alpha2.zip (sourced into mysql with 24th jan update )

read the error next time..

This tells me you need to choose a better server name.

Try something longer like

worldname=enigmatic's cool semi-legit

????? so what version are you using LOL.. pick one and stick with it...

btw i'd love to know where you got "5.5DR1VSNETBinaries".. since i never released them...

if you are in fact using 0.5.5-dr1 its unsupported anyway.

Yea i was using 5.5DR1VSNETBinaries, i got them from a link on a thread.

They allow me login to my server and i can choose a character but it crashes when it tries to load up the world. I am guessing its something to do with the fields

I patched my everquest on 14th march


anyway thanks for the help with the initial problem, now i dont get server name error now.

now i can get to hear the music and play about with some stats, its the furthest i have gotten so far.
