Another 1017 problem...
Followed jezebell's server guide EXACTLY, no problems, go to start server, and guess what...1017!
I have looked at and tried EVERY solution to this problem, and nothing works, please someone help? Thx. |
I dont understand what you think anyone here can do just by you saying I dont know what to do it wont work... We cant see your output of your world.exe and zone.exe, and dont know the contents of your loginserver.ini, db.ini, eqhost.txt, and load5zones.bat files....
Also, you said you have tried everything, but you havent told us what you have tried that failed to work? |
Well thanks for flaming my post, i admit i am new, there is no reason to be rude like that...

Plz help? thx. |
Do you have a router? If you do, what kind?
|
I wasnt flaming your post, just that common sense would tell you that just saying you are getting 1017 is TOTALLY not enough info to go by to help you solve your problem...
Everything looks good in your server set-up. When did you patch EQLive last? If you havent patched for a while you may have to to make it compatible with your server.... If you have patched, then you are having a NAT issue... If you have a router, you will need to forward you internal IP to your external IP... Meaning you need to tell your router that everytime a call is made to your external IP address from someone's EQ client (including yours), that it will actually be led to or connected to your internal IP for the pc that has the server on it... Or in other words your router will trick the client into thinking that your internal IP address is actually your external IP address instead.... |
K, how do i forward my internal IP to my external ip? im not great with internet stuff like this...
there are 3 boxes underneath the desk in my office (not where my computer w/ server is) 1 is made by RCA, there is a cable connection running to it, its the modem i think... 1 is made by hawking, it has 3 lights on it, one says WAN link one says LAN link , and one says Internet 1 is a network hub....i dont know what a router looks like cuz im dumb... |
