EverQuest Anthology
Im actually working on a database/server project.
Project is called "EverQuest Anthology", and objectives is to make a database that people will be able to use to play on, Public or Minilogin, in a few word, an alternative to EQLive database. Lots of interesting servers are running/setting up databases that will never be released to public, we want make the opposite of that. You will be able to download EQA DB/Server and able to host it on your server if you want, and live a totally new experience on Norrath. Phase one is to setup game system, EQA will be totally different than EQLive in a lots of points. Dynamic Economic System, Class revamp that will allow all to solo, Point System to reward players who get involved in Realm/Deity war. Main focus is to actually revamp all class and balance them, which is a huge work. A version will be released in the next weeks, showing what will be new class revamp and point system. Website is taking form, Forum is up, due to my work, i have a lots of free time and can be involved at 100% in project, what we need actually is ideas/suggestions, what you would like to see in EQA that wasnt allowed in EQLive. What is needed is constructive discussions about class revamp/balance, game system, economy, everything is good to take. If you want to be involved in a database/server creation by throwing ideas that you will be able to host/play on, then check www.everquestanthology.fr.st , forum section. |
I like your ideas, keep up the good work :)

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to have choices when it comes to what type of worlds you want to build.

Thanks Naruto, if you say up, this mean DB work with 5.7 which is sweet lol, took me 2 days to find a way to edit items without a world crash when loading...
Thanks again :) |
Grr my house keeper turned off my computer so server went down. Sorry, should be up later soon.
BTW this should be moved to World Building then stickied. |
sharing the customization
i'm working on a completely custom items/tradeskills database right now...
i'd be more than willing to share it, but there's no way i'm going to hand write such a hugeass sql file... is there a way to use MySQL to create a sourcing file from a database you already have? |
there is with mysql front, thats all i know tho :)
|
if you want to make all class be able to solo =) 1rst thing, remove summon =)
|
How would you do that :-) ?
|
hmm
hmm interesting
|
You can use mySQL front smuggler to make a SQL file of your DB, if you want to "share" it, i could take a look at it :)
At the moment, im making spells and trying to add new features to class that will make them different from EQLive to play. Main focus is, to balance the whole thing and remove stupid things like Complete healing, summon, uber warrior disc :p |
/sigh
You're gonna remove CH and high end Warrior Disc's?
You also going to remove high end raiding content then? sorry if that sounded cynical... I just cant see removing CH fully... making a higher level spell...like it always should have been I could see though.... /shrug |
class balancing
yeah CH is toast on the server im working on too, instead, clerics get faster heals...
trying to make PvP the main focus of the server, not high end raiding trying to keep the classes at least similar to their live counterparts, but also balance. kinda tricky. using warrior as a template, try to make it so that any class has a sporting chance against every other class. this means gimping pets |
