New Horizon (Classic EQ)
 

I've heard so many people asking for an EQ Classic Server so here it is log in and play have fun enjoy the good old days dont complain that you cant #si/#zone/#level/#setskillall/#scribespells Please dont or i will ban you from the server =P. Thats not what it is. The max level on this server atm is 50 Currently you can create iskar's which i'm not sure why yet but all other expansions have been disabled and any non Odus/Antonica/Fawydar Zones are unavailable. In time i might expand to Kunark or Velious Just like eq started out. I'm not sure yet. I will be adding most EQ live quests to make it seem more like eq these quests are really not hard to make so let me know which ones you think are most important to get done first. If you got any questions or comments about this server let me know i'm sure there are still alot of bugs in it but i need ot know about em all so let me know. Website will be comming shortly with a list of what Quests spells ect are available. I will have a couple gms on to have events just like the old days. Sorry no bazaar back to the EC tunnel and Gfay trading. If not enough people enjoy this server i'm going back to my pvp server i hope you guys like it though.

Ran into some DB problems Server should be up tomarrow. Npcs arnt spawning so i figured i would just leave it down for now.

Go to the website and take the poll if you think Server should be pvp or not. I dont know what to decide.

Also post any ideas you have here i'm open to anything.

since quests arnt transfering, might as well add pvp, would be pretty fun, racial 3 team pvp,

i was gonna start a halfling rogue and when i was like lvl 6 would take all my bixie wax to everfrost and get a everglow candle, but adding all those little quests by hand wouldnt really be worth it, would it?

What do you mean quests arnt transfering? Quests are easy to do. I can go on Allakhazam and get all the info i need wont be any problem at all. But i still think pvp is a good idea.

BTW now i got npcs spawning :-). It was the stupid AC column hehe. Anyways just enabled perl with the new 5.7DR4 i got so it should be all working for tomarrow. I'll be on most of tomarrow fixing the GM's in zones for people.

You know, I was wondering if it would be feasible to make a script to run thru all of Allakhazam's quests on his website, dump the quest text, factions, quest items, mob names, etc. Would be kinda gay to hammer his server like that but I could prolly make something like that. I figure I would MW_057DR2_alpha_1 database to search for the mobs/items. Although I would literaly kill someone to get the next release of that database.... =D

Problem with something like that would be that most of the quests would be kinda screwy one way or another. Would need to go thru each one and clean em up. Then you need to check every npcid and crap.... kinda makes me shudder.

Anyhow, keep up the good work. Classic is the win! :D :P

It probly would be possible to do that but seriously all the quests are is copy and paste text change a couple item ids and i'm done its pretty much the same for each quest. Yes its alot of work but what else do i got to do this summer =P. Anyways putting the server up now for you guys not all the gms working yet i'll be on that soon.

Besides i dont want all the quests i only want EQ Classic Quests no gay newbie armor and other stuff. That totaly ruined the game hehe.

basicly every quest in every old world zone is a eq classic quest, i think theres to many for you to handle, hopefully you can get the more popular ones up tho, and is it possible to remove npcs that dont work so its easier to find quests? GRRRRRR i wish quest transfered that makes me so angry

Over time i can get all of em but i want people to /petition which ones are most used i know very few of them hehe.

BTW Server was having login problems it seems about 4 or 5 people tyed to log on kept getting disconnected so i'm gona work on that atm hopefully it will be fixed soon.

id start off with getting all the freeport quests wroking, just cause thats my fav and most interensting town :) and it has tons of really well written and thought out, but now obsolete quests

Ahh good old freeport :-). My first character was a human pally he was alot of fun. I love Freeport. But since Luclin and PoP no one ever uses towns anymore what a shame.

ARGH! The server WAS up a minute ago! :twisted:

It was but its having errors atm when peope zone in. Everyone i've seen try gets disconnected. I get disconnected everyother time i login. Not sure what hte problem is yet i posted for some help on boards. It might just be my firewall that doesnt like you guys. BUt my computer shutsdown when i got no firewall since its got some spyware on it.

i got in after a couple attempts, didnt get much done other than mem a couple spells. After character creation everything seems fine. Logging in the first time will boot you. Trying again a few times will let you in. Dont know how long it will let you play. I had the exact same problem with my dr4 server.
