DR means developer's release.. not even beta. The reason it was released quickly was because people were begging for the emu to work with the current patch.

You obviously haven't played on the S2K server or talked to the people who play there. I use our server for testing new code before it goes into cvs. If the code works, then from the time I put it in until the time it is merged with cvs and cvs is released there will be a difference...

And if it doesn't work, its our server crashing - not yours.

It's a dev release dumbass. Sorry I forgot you don't know that "programing" stuff. Basically that means you get an alpha build of the next version. Right right no "programing". An alpha build is a pre-beta (beta is when testing is done) developer only release (hence the name developer release) that is a fucking privilege for you to get to use.

And since you failed to notice the fact that not only do the devs not make a dime off this shit, we have to pay to keep it running. You want bug free perfect releases? Play live or fund us. I charge around 65,000$ a year for full time "programing", so send me a baggy filled with cash or a certified check and I'll get you dr5 in flawless form.

Here is the issue that i think make some of the Dev's lame:

#1 they release a shitty version of DR-4 where nothing works...

Yet, all their servers seem to work just fine?

They do a half ass job on the Public Release then work on their own.

I understand that they are all doing this for free, and they all have jobs outside of this, but a lil thing they should know by now, or at least i hope they should know is that: If your going to do something do it right.

I have been working on fixing this Huge problem you neglected to fix with DR4, but there are too many problems for me to fix.

I dont care how long it takes to make, take the extra time and do it right, you spend all your time on support, screw helping people, make it right then you wont have to.

Thank your for putting the time in it you have, im not saying i dont appriciate your work, im trying to get the point into your head that you should just do the job right, especialy when no one has anything to fall back on like DR4, you have to patch, then when all DR4 server SUCK cuz of some things you decided not to fix...

Who was it that said DR = Dev release? cause that about sums it up Never expect a DR to be completely bug free. Then again if you believe it can and should be then maybe you need to click your shoes together harder.

why not be a bit more constructive with your feedback and maybe make a list of bugs and/or errors and possible solutions.

If there are indeed 'too many problems' for you to fix, then post the patches for the problems you did manage to fix. Then the devs can skip those and fix the rest.

Just saying it all sucks and whining about it won't fix anything, and will probably ensure that you will never be helped in the future.

Well its shitty cause its a DR ( i think this has been covered enought) and because there smart enough to have a seperate EQ directory for the EMU so when SOE patched and breaks the EMU they can still play

If thats what it takes to get the hundreds of posts flaming them for not having it out NOW to stop then yes. People dont want to wait to play and they dont have back up directories so they flame the bord, got to shut them up somehow.

OH so you didnt create a backup copy ether huh? yea they suck but guess what.THATS WHAT THE COMMUNITY WANTS they want to be able to log on create a char and stand there. they would rather have that then waiting a few weeks for the bugs to be fixed.

All i see in your post is me me me me me, what about everyone else here? thats right more people put up a stink about not even being able to log on then about the bugs that are know so guess what........the Devs do what the COMMUNITY wants not what you want.

The Devs may be elitists, and darn right arses most of the time, but they run this this is there domain, they make the rules this is there little corner of the web where they ARE the gods. If you want to be part of the community you need to accept that. Just like on my web space I say what happens and if you dont like it fine dont come.

I wish the Devs would be nicer / more professional but the one thing anyone with a brain cant denie is there hard work and there own $ to run this project, so they do what they want and we nod and say ok or we go away.
