Is this Wierd?
If on the loginserver.ini in eqemu folder i put the worldaddress to my external IP everyone but people on my network can login, and i can only login if i put my 192.168.1.100 local IP. how can i make it so i can login if i put my external IP?
|
There's no need too.
|
why? i wanna play on the server with other people

You need to use a DNS name for your server, the update your local host file with your internal IP address.
there should be several threads regarding it, especially in the linux forum. |
Aye Trumpcard is right (of course!), I just found an old post I made about solving this problem:
http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/vie...sc&start=7 Ignore the Loginserver= and LoginPort= statements, since that was posted back before the new login server, but the rest is still valid. |
so,
Code:
Server: nsx.charter-stl.com |

Hey it worked!! anyways, how come the mobs when i make them and do a #npcspawn create, then restart the server they dont show up?

hmm, it still doesnt work... and i know its not something wrong with the db tho, because i sourced MW_alpha1(blablalongname) and no mobs showed up ever either
|
although, is something not 100% updated with MW? like ac_updates or the unknown 008?
|
Ok, i got the AC update on it and it works, but the thing with the people outside of my network cant login still hasnt worked with the DNS name thing, but I dont know if this matters, my computer has a network bride, but my other comp doesnt? is that gunna screw eqemu server running up?
|
Now everything works! i disconnected my rout and am doing direct Link to Cable modem. Now everyone can login =)

#npcspawn create
this command simply creates a "copy" of whatever npc you had targeted and makes a npctype in the database. It has nothing to do whatsoever with putting a spawn down. you have to use #npcspawn add to place a spawn point |
