I only have a 4 port hub...my family is using all the ports...which means I have to utilize a single port for my computer and my server.

My Comp:p4 2.8ghz,1gigpc3200,2x120gb SATAs raided, gf3ti200

Server:XP1700+, 512ddr, 20gb ata133, voodoo4(heh)...soon to get that gf3

The server isint going to be public...only for probably 10 people max...I doubt it will ever have 10 people on at once however...probably around 5-6.
My question is......would it be more efficient to have the server with the direct internet connection and have my comp gain internet access through it...or would there be no noticable difference...i understand that if i do do that...i may lag more while playing on my own server(ironic).

get another 4 port hub and daisy chain it.. they are only like 20 - 30 bucks.

affirmative...i plan on doing that when i move into the basement...that wont be for a minimum of 1month possibly 2...until then what do you suggest regarding my post

i don't think it will matter either way. =p
