Really Dumb questions
 

lol this may sound dumb but..how do i use this thing? i played eq for a few months but didnt wanna pay so i quit. Did u guys find some kinda glitch to legaly pay for free? if so how do i use these servers? wat do i need to download? i tried using the guide but the link was bad for me. Thanks!

is the site going through some kinda down time or something? i cant find any links to watever i have to download and the guide doesnt work :?

The guides work just fine; read them, thoroughly, completely. All of them. You might have to search. Do so. Often.

I think i may be messed up...think u can copy and paste the guide into here or email it to me? i go to play guide and it says "
The topic or post you requested does not exist "

I'm having the exact same problem, how does one say the guide works when it doesn't exist..... I wanna play EQ baaaaad. Arrgh!! :x

I HIGHLY RECOMEND MAKING A SECOND COPY OF YOUR EQ DIRECTORY CASE YOU SKEW THIS UP.

First you need to change your eqhost.txt file contents to this

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5996

NOOOO SPACES after lines or it will not owrk.

make a link to eqgame.exe on your desktop

right click it and go to properties

make it says something like this

"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest Trilogy\eqgame.exe" patchme

it depends on which folder your eqgame.exe is in.

now click the link on desktop (it will bypass patcher)

once you login create a new acccount using the following link

IGNORE WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT [loginserver] you already did that and its a little different.

then login and play, i might have left something out besides i havent done this in over a year so i might be a little rusty try it and tell me what happens.

Good little guide, however you left out the first step.. If you are installing a new copy of EQ you will have to patch to live... This is the ONLY way you will be able to play... And remember that the 0.5.8 server (the only you YOU will be able to join) is still BETA>>>>:) G'luck and have fun...

**EDIT** (i'm a dumbass and didnt read all of his post)

There are many patchers out there right now and you can use one of them to fix your problem and play on 5.7 Where most of the servers are. However if you do a fresh isntall you need to copy your RenderEffects folder into your newly installed folder because the way 5.7 and live work is a little different and i dont think any patchers out right now patch that folder. I could go into details but jsut take my word for it.
