5.8 server bugs
This is hopefully in the correct spot, please forgive me if it is not...
I just downloaded the newest source from cvs, and compiled a fresh bin. noticed these problems... 1) I wanted the server to be locked, and it showed up as locked, but while I was testing I got visitors. 2) I also noticed that all previous characters created using 5.7 for the person logged in got deleted, with a message of it being a bogus character. I will post more bugs as I come across them Drag |
1) Was your server set to locked in your LoginServer.ini file?
2) Yah thats normal, a converter wasnt written for this version, so it will delete old characters that are incompatible. |
Will there be a convertor before official 5.8 release?
This would be the deciding factor of wether or not we upgrade ) |
I guess I could write one

Yes, it was set to locked, as well as showing up as locked on the server select screen. Drag |
I have a converter that I will release eventually.

On the 5.8 Testserver when using a necromancer, and tyring to go down to neriakc to talk to trainer, the gouls at the entrance to the necro/sk training area are aggro to me.. KOS as a matter of fact...Unless they have changed this from live, it has ALWAYS been that they are warm to necros/sk's.....
|
KOS faction is a database issues, not a code bug.
And if you're anything but a dark elf, those ghouls are supposed to be KOS, necro or not. Ask my gnome. |

[edit] Semi-my fault, as this is test server bug, and I suppose I posted it in a general 5.8 bug thread, when there IS (as I saw after posting) a test server specific thread... Oh well, Is still a bug nonetheless..... |
I tried playing on the "official 5.8 test server" and I find that almost all the time when I zone I never come out the other end. My client just hangs. And then a lot of the time I can't get back in at all with that character.
Is that "normal"? This is a direct copy of a client that is working fine with EQ Live so I'd be suprised if it's a client issue at all. |
No, it is not normal. I have been playing test every day for the last 5 days and no trouble zoning at all... other than it turning me around on zone so that I face the zone line again and if I take a step before looking around I end up zoning back again.
