Differences between Linux EQEMU and Windows?

Hello. I am preparing to work on my server and I am trying to decide between a linux or windows platform. I would prefer to use Linux, but I am wondering what the differences are in the EQEMU serve code between the two? Any features missing or are they pretty much the same?

Both Linux and Windows use the same source code. There is some conditional compilation (#ifdef) for the two operating systems to compensate for slight differences in how the two Operating Systems do things, but as far as functionality is concerned the EQEmu server is identical on both platforms (in my experience).
