EverQuest crashes when I try to log into my server.

Well, this is wierd. I've logged into my server just fine before when I had everything in my .ini and .bat files set to localhost.. So I changed them so others could log in.. Now, I get into the Login Server just fine.. But when I select my server and click play, EQ never even gets to the loading screen and then just crashes with a nondescript error. I am behind a router, but I have all of my ports forwarded and unblocked. The actual Server software isn' t reporting any errors at all. I can log into other people's servers just fine..

Here are the relevant files:

Code:

[LoginServer]
loginserver=newlogin1.eqemulator.net
loginport=5994
worldname=KarnaQuest
worldaddress=flamehouse.org
locked=false
account=
password=

[WorldServer]
Defaultstatus=0
Unavailzone=

[ChatChannelServer]
worldshortname=
chataddress=
chatport=

[LoginConfig]
ServerMode=standalone
ServerPort=5999

Code:

REM: ****Read this first!!!****

REM: This file requires your real IP in the place of "EXTERNAL_IP_HERE" when you are connecting
REM: To the EQEmu Loginserver.

REM: When you are using minilogin, Replace all IP Addresses to say 127.0.0.1

REM: If you still get errors try using localhost instead of 127.0.0.1

REM:--------------Start-----------------------
@echo off

if NOT exist spells_us.txt goto NOSPELL

start zone . flamehouse.org 7995 localhost
start zone . flamehouse.org 7996 localhost
start zone . flamehouse.org 7997 localhost
start zone . flamehouse.org 7998 localhost
start zone . flamehouse.org 7999 localhost
exit
cls

:NOSPELL
echo You did not copy the spells_en.txt from your everquest directory to this one.  Please do so or zones will crash on startup.
PAUSE

REM:---------------END------------------------

.. Any ideas?[/code]

I changed localhost to 192.168.1.100 [My computer on the router] .. And now it gives me a 1017 error.

The problem does appear to be my router. After setting everything back to localhost it worked just fine.

If you want your server to be public you will need to forward the ports that your zone.exe's and world.exe uses to your internal ip address.

Have a look at this post:
