How to EDIT spells_us.txt
 
wondering if there is someone that can put spells_us.txt into a understandable form so that i can make some changes such as what all the sections mean exc

The reliable way to edit your spells is to use Mongrel's Spell Editor. Do a search, you should be able to find it.

To decipher all the information in spells_us.txt would be too much of a hassle, and it would be VERY confusing to edit it by hand.

no version of spell editor ive found works now, an explaination of what each number in spells_us means would be great, or if theres a current spell editor would be wonderous!

The current best source of documentation is the source itself. Look at spells.h, it gives a complete definition of the spell structure.

The last version mongrel put out should work, I dont think sony has EVER changed the way they do spells therefor any version of his spell editor should work(but they may be buggy).

*edit* oops forgot to mention that since SoE added new spell effects the ones listed on mongrels are inaccurate, it sohuldn't change your ability to edit spells you just need to be more careful when editing spell effects.

not sure if this would affect the way spell editors work but the 13th patch made some changes. spells were broken down pre-50 so everyone gets at least one spell per level. because of this, they also have reduced effects at the earlier levels
