i have everything...but when i get to server login screen i cant log in....and when i click on ZonePerl in my folder...it says im missing perl58.dll anyone know anything?

Can you explain what is everything plz ?

you want only play on emulation ? or you want make a server ?
If you want make a server :
What version of eqemu, you use ? what tutorial you follow ?
what have you install ?

I have 6.2 downloaded...my host is right..my shortcut with patchme after is right...im on linux and when i get to the server login i click on the server hit play everquest and then it says i may need to repatch....can u infer anything from that information? I used to play on scorpious2k just fine...i dont kno if that helps nething?

You want to play on it.
That no work, but you can play on scorpious2k.

Answer:

Scorpious2K use a eqemu 0.5.7 heavy mod by scorpious.
This server need is client compatible with 0.5.7 eqemu version.
This version isn't compatible with 0.6.2 eqemu.
You don't have right client for 0.6.2, you can't play.

I am on a windows platform. Sorry for the messup.

Also, I am running 0.6.2 and I have not patched since before 9/13 and I get past the logon screen, but when I come to the server select screen I get the error "Error 1017: Cannot login to the EverQuest server. You may need to rerun the Update Patch. Repeatidly seeing this message indicates a loss of conectivity to the patch Server. This is usually temporarily."

--If patching to Skorpious wouldhave caused any problems, I think I can still fix that. Any help would be much appreciated.

An you try to connect to the server to play.
You haven't patch after 09/13 but when have you patch ?
You need everquest software with latest patch BEFORE 09/13

I don't know if i have the patch before 9/13 but i have one before that...that could be the problem. But yes I am using that playguide.

Ok,
Check your Eqhost.txt like playguide.
Check your shorcut on eqgame.Exe like playguide.
If you can't connect on any server and you don't have the patch JUST BEFORE 09/13, your client isn't compatible with eqemu 0.6.2 and you can't play.

Just to let you know, asking about backpatches, or any other discussion of how to get copyrighted files on these boards is a really fast way to get banned. Since you're new here most people will cut you some slack... but I'd strongly suggest you edit the previous post just to show people you're not some crazed software pirate.

Why is there such a strong and somewhat anal approach to this question? SOE have served C&D notices on servers that provided backpatches in the past. As things stand, the Project and these boards don't break any laws and don't give them any cause to try to shut things down. It'd be a good thing to keep this state of affairs.
