Anyone Copy/Paste Quick
Would appreciate if anyone could copy/paste what the whole eqhost.txt file says on the inside. I think the part above
[LoginServer] Host=eqemulator.net:5998 got screwed up and is preventing me from connecting to the server list. A prompt reply would be most appreciated =) Thankyou |
My eqhost.txt is exactly the same. And my client is working.

Make sure you don't have any white space.

I get the "Could not connect to everquest server" message. lame !
|
download mine :
http://eqfroggy.ath.cx/download/eqhost.txt click on link with right mouse and choose save target link... If don't work your problem is'nt eqhost.txt |
Hmmm using yours I get the could not find eqhost.txt message.....
Weird!!! Also, Im trying to connect to EQ Emu ( used to be set for Shards of Dalaya) dunno if that makes a difference. |
The format of eqhost.txt has changed between the old client that SoD uses and recent clients that 6.x source code uses. It's unlikely that any eqemu servers still run the version that SoD is based off of.
|
Any idea for a fix then? SoD is an uber server but the sheer lack of pvp sickens me !
|
mhh are you sure your client is compatible with eqemu 0.6.2/0.6.3 ?
If you use same client than SoD that can't work. |
Was using 6.2 on EQ Emu... Then i Went to SoD... never updated the EQ patcher again So I dont see how it could of been made uncompatible. *shrugs*
|
Simple. You now have a SoD client, not an EQEMu 6.2-compatible client. SoD has (a) Custom content that would disallow you from playing on other servers with the same directory and (b) does not run in 0.6.2, so they downgrade your directory to run on their older version.
Requesting a backpatch for forward patch or a link to a place to get such would be against the forum rules :) |
