I have tryed all of the available "fixes" but since 3.3.1 servers came up, I can create a character but when I try to join i see "everquest"... then eqw just dies. im running xp any suggestions

u running 16bit color mode on your desktop?

yes. eqw works fine and i get to the point where i should be appearing a game window.

Same here. I never liked trying to use gotfrags I have never been able to connect to a server stable wise. When i click enter world I got kicked to desktop when it should load.

Most the time I just get disconnected right before the char login. heh. or I get a re-run patch m,essage,

Its futile for me to try and connect to gotfrags servers in list.

I was CTDing a while ago, what I did was delete my eqgame.exe and any opt or ini files for characters, then finally the cfg for graphics (forget the name) eqcfg.cfg or something.... But then I patched and setup my graphics for EQ back up and it was working again.

I'm having this same trouble, trying this atm, i'll edit and let you all know if this helps.

Not at all... grr. And i gotta reset all my colors and stuff... :p you might have better luck, but i don't suggest doin this :\
