To all people who already own Titanium...
Mattmeck came up with a heck of an idea as a little experiment. Now as you probably know, many people keep bringing up that CD packs, such as Evolution or Titanium, may have their contents, even under the same label, secretly updated or changed over the course of its sale. In doing so, it would make making an EQEMu server compatible with a CD set impossible or at least very difficult, as it would end up being actually multiple client versions for 1 cd-set "label".
So, heres the experiment. If you own Titanium already, please use EQVerCheck (download link below) to generate an Long and Short version string for that directory. Once you've done so, paste such numbers on this thread. By doing so, we'll be able to see if any Titanium CDs are not of the same version. And please, DO NOT go out and buy Titanium specifically for trying this, or do so at your own risk of there not being a titanium version, I really don't know if its very much or not at all plausible. You are able to download EQVerCheck here, on the EQEMulator site. Extract the zip file into your Titanium directory and run it. Then, reply to this thread with the Long Version String (prefixed with 'EQ') and Short Version String (prefixed with 'SEQ'). One last note: If you have a version of the Titanium directory that the Devs are using, clicking Suggest LS will note that it is compatible with the "Titanium" EQEMu Server Releases, but has no LoginServer. As Doodman pointed out on IRC, there is in fact a login server that is compatible with Titanium (5998), it just lacks a compatible server version. I simply tagged it as 'no loginserver' as to avoid confusion with people who might think that Titanium was compatible with EQEMu if they saw there was a loginserver for it. |
To start us off, the version that eqvercheck currently recognizes as titanium:
Version Number: SEQB6367 Extended Version Number: EQ61EA436B52DAE106831BDF131E2727A6B8291587 |
As a side note, people who have this version and patched do not qualify, this is or fresh installs only.

New to this:
Got: Version Number: SEQB6367 Extended Version Number: EQ61EA436B52DAE106831BDF131E2727A6B8291587 (same) When I ran EQVerCheck.exe from my game dir, crashed. When I ran it from another directory, it said what files I needed and as I pasted them, it worked. eqgame.exe EQGraphicsDX9.dll eqmain.dll EQGfx_Dx8.dll mss32.dll |
It seems that if you run EQVerCheck.exe with all correct files in the same directory, it will crash.
If you let it prompt you at least one for a missing file, it will not crash. TTE: (1) Copy EQVerCheck.exe in a dir by itself (2) Run it, then click Calculate. (3) It should put a message saying eqgame.exe is missing. Do not exit EQVerCheck.exe. You can just minimize, hit alt-tab, etc. (4) copy (eqgame.exe,EQGfx_Dx8.dll,EQGraphicsDX9.dll,eqmain .dll,mss32.dll) from your game dir to dir in (1). (5) Click the Calculate button again. |
This is very strange, it should behave exactly the same.

Here is the Dr Watson XML (If that helps), assuming you did this with visual studio and made the .lis file
The exception address reported is 0x0000000077c42a16 The sig reads as: AppName: eqvercheck.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll ModVer: 7.0.2600.2180 Offset: 00032a16 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?> <DATABASE> <EXE NAME="EQVerCheck.exe" FILTER="GRABMI_FILTER_PRIVACY"> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="dpvs.dll" SIZE="160256" CHECKSUM="0x6C73E21E" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" LINK_DATE="11/12/2004 09:16:21" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/12/2004 09:16:21" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="DSETUP.dll" SIZE="60416" CHECKSUM="0xE9272FA9" BIN_FILE_VERSION="4.9.0.900" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="4.9.0.900" PRODUCT_VERSION="4.09.00.0900" FILE_DESCRIPTION="Direct driver preloader" COMPANY_NAME="Microsoft Corporation" PRODUCT_NAME="Microsoft |
I think I finally got it to a reproducible state.
When I click the Calculate 'Button' mine crashes When I press Alt-C crash When I click the menus Main then Calculate..., it works fine. |
Well I went out today to pickup titanium, since it's been almost two years since I played on live and I was having a hard time as a cleric finding a group in game anywhere I could go.
This is what I got. Scanning Files... Reading eqgame.exe... Reading EQGraphicsDX9.dll... Reading eqmain.dll... Reading EQGFX_DX8.dll... Reading mss32.dll... Checksums Generated. Generating Verson Strings... Version Number: SEQB6367 Extended Version Number: EQ61EA436B52DAE106831BDF131E2727A6B8291587 |
Looks like some promising results.. if this works I'll have to pick up a copy of Titanium.

Version Number: SEQB6367
Extended Version Number: EQ61EA436B52DAE106831BDF131E2727A6B8291587 |
"Borrowed" a friend's copy:
Version Number: SEQB6367 Extended Version Number: EQ61EA436B52DAE106831BDF131E2727A6B8291587 She claims it was bought when it was first released, so if people who just bought it are getting the same version, then that would mean that from release until now at least it has been the same version. That's damn good news! |
purchase
I am going to try and purchase a copy today. I live in Okinawa,Japan so will see if it matters if your in the USA or any other place.
