can't start eq...

I did everything just as it was told to me. I open the shortcut and it says it has to close and I click the debug button and it says this!
the instruction at "0x00000001" referenced memory at "0x00000001". the memory could not be "read".

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

===================
EQVerCheck did not recognize your EQ Version, SEQB5367, as a compatible client with EQEMu. This could be because the latest EQEMu server does not work with the live patch, because you have installed from the EverQuest CD without patching, or because EQVerCheck's version database has become outdated.

I hope this helps my case!

Well if EQ never actually launched, just gave you an error, then try these things:

Update to newest Direct X
Make sure you have the most recent Video card drivers
Make sure you have a legal install of EQ

Those are the most frequently encountered error fixes. There are other, more difficult to fix solutions, but without further details, not to many people can help.

I have already done first and two. What do you mean by a legal install of EQ? I had to get a torrent download because my evolutions isn't supported. Can someone please tell me what is happening here?
