Zone.exe Crashes
 

I've been running my own server recently just with a couple friends and until just today we've been having a good time without too many issues...

Every once in a while zone.exe would perform an unknown error and need to close, i'd close it and reboot the server and play another 4 or 5 hours no problems, log out close everything down and I'm good... happen maybe 1ce a day tops.

Then starting a yesterday i am starting to get chain 'unknown errors' and my server drops anywhere between 2 or 3 minutes and a couple hours.... this coincided with me adding a 4th player to the server instead of just 3, but i monitored my system and found it wasn't even using half it's resources when it crashed so i can't imagine it was a stress level issue... More over when said 4th person logged off i kept having that problem still...

The only other change recently was that i sourced in the PoK books as per the thread over in the development section, but i can't imagine that'd mess us up, especially since we were hunting in Dragon Necropolis and The Plane of Hate, neither one of which has any connection to those PoK books...

I've double and tripple checked the updates on teh server as i am running 840 and i wanted to make sure i ran all the table changes and whatnot for all the developments up to 840 from 0.7.0 base.... and all of those clear just fine


So... I'm stumped, anyone else have any idea what could cause this? or where to even look to narrow the field?

Post your computer specs. This sounds like a resource issue.

Um, ok well here's the system specs (if you want me to dump a certain file for text lemme know, didn't see a sticky thread with directions)

Computer building is my hobby, been doin it for several years now so my comptuer is custom built...

Running AMD x64 3800 duel core CPU (using windows hotfix to fix multi-thread stacking issues with EQ)

939Duel-Sata2 AS-Rock Motherboard utilizing the on-board gigabit lan for connection to my network (using a cable modem from there to host the server)

3 gig ram (4 channels each set supporting and utilizing duel channel on the motherboard)

Vid card is a Radeon 850XT pci-e card with Zalman Resevator Liquid cooling for the vid card itself (CPU has seperate cooling)
Vid card is supporting duel monitors if that makes a difference (shouldn't

Also have plenty of hard drive space (200GB)

Running Windows XP professional, fully updated... Plenty of virus protection and spybot (all ports and whatnot fowarded correctly after tireless testing and thread-reading)

If you need any other specs lemme know, like i said i monitored my system when i was running things and when it crashed i wasn't even at 50% utilization
