Zone.exe does not compile - skipped

I ran into this problem after rebuilding my Windows XP machine a few dozen times recently, where I follow the VC2005 Pro guide to setting up compiling the source, got all the components installed (perl, mysql, zlib), convert the solution, switch to Release win32, hit Build, and every time it says 2 success, 1 skipped - the 1 being Zone.exe. There is a build dir for EMShareMem and World, but nothing for Zone - it's truly being skipped.

If I switch to debug, it does compile, and is called ZonePerl.exe.

I think one day I loaded the zone.dsw and ran a build and it worked that way. I didn't have a problem before nuking XP and starting over, so I am certain it's my bad. Any ideas what I might have wrong?

TIA,
J

Do a batch clean, and a batch make (or build whatever Windows calls it) Make sure the release zone build is checked.

Hey cavedude :) Thanks, I did do a solution clean, project clean, and zone clean. The only way I got Zone to build with the Windows source package was to load zone.dsw and build that way. Works fine, the zones load and all. I haven't made further changes, but I am pretty sure from doing this previously zone.exe will build with the main solution.

I'm heading back into Linux world anyway. I just like using VS2005 to make changes. Haven't found a decent Linux IDE (gedit just doesn't cut it :))

I think I may have found the problem with this, or at least it worked for me. Check to see what the output file is set to, I found that even with Release as the selected build option, it was outputting to ZonePerl.exe on compile.
