Grids - is there a 50 waypoint limit?

I read somewhere on the board that there is a limit of 50 waypoints on a grid. Is this true? I haven't found any mention of it in the wiki.

Do you know how to read C++ source? That's a quick way to see what the limits are, if any.

No, limit is much higher than 50 as I've seen many hundreds of waypoints in some grids
