Those specs are WAY more than you need for an emu server. You'll be able to host a good number of players with no problems, I'd think. I've run a server off of my PC that supported 30 people decently.

I would have to agree with the last post, the specs are over kill for a EqEmu server. Also the thing that is going to make the biggest difference will be internet connection, specifically your upload speed. Even with a 6Mb cable connection if your upload speed is only like 512kps then it will not matter how fast your server is as it will bottleneck on the network if you plan on having many people on it.

you can run an EQEMU server for over 100 people on a 1.8 GH with a gig of ram just fine, its the internet connection and monthly BW that matter.

32Gb of ram!!!!

holy bejeezus. you could probably host every current server via virtualization if you wanted on that rig.. lmao.

hat's off to ya man.

Give it to me, I'll find good use for it :)

...and that's enough power to run Oblivion twice the normal speed..

Cause the server wants to show off and run 100 zones + 3 instances of the client.

wow.. thats like 5k just in ram alone.. either someone is blowin smoke or has more money than they know what to do with.. why not get a 1000w power supply lol

32gb of ram just yells out lies to me. Honestly how often are you able to utilize 4gigs of ram on a daily basis let alone 32gigs. And the fact that if 2 gigs would run it fine then why would you even need 32 gigs???

Also I did research on the Supermicro H8DAR-E Server Board and it seems that the 32gigs of ram that you "bought" well you said they are DDR 400 right??? Well that board only supports up to 16 gigs of DDR 400 the 32 gig is for DDR 266 :( Sorry to throw your train off of your tracks and trying to brag to the world but I thought I should point that out.

The mobo supports 32GB, he is only putting in 2GB

2Gb Kit Team Xtreem Proseidon 2-3-2-5 PC3200

See? Don't flame the guy cause you missed that ;)
