WinCvs and PEQ download info added to Wiki
I added a guide for downloading the latest PEQ Database and Quests with WinCvs to the wiki:
http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=WinCvs - Zandig Slaytanic |
Thanks Zandig ... I personally appreciate this very much, was trying to upgrade my server to one of the latest builds and could only work my way to reinstalling the entire thing, but now (hopefully) I can do a simple upgrade.
Question: How complete is the database from PEQ? I have heard that it contains Original EQ, Velious, Kunark and Luclin ... and others say that those expansions are the ones that are accurate, but that the others are also populated, if not so complete as they could be? Anyways, thanks again for the guide. |
Sweet ... got the sql's and pl's down ... I know what to do with the pl's, but how do I incorperate the sql's? WARNING : sql-n00b @ keyboard.
Do I source them all? And will they affect existing char's on the server? And if I just downloaded them NOW ... what version of the emu will they be compatible with? Sorry for all the n00b questions :D |
Taken from:
http://www.projecteq.net/downloads.php drop_system.sql - Drops all PEQ released tables so the DB can be loaded successfully. drop_users.sql - Drops all user-specific (non PEQ) tables. Not normally used. load_empty_users.sql - Loads new empty tables for all user-specific data. Only used on fresh installs. load_system.sql - Loads the PEQ database. This is the meat of the release. An upgrade from an earlier version would consist of: - Ensuring that your current database is up to date with the version of eqemu you want to use. - sourcing in drop_system.sql - sourcing in load_system.sql NOTE: this upgrade will destroy any customizations to the world (not chars or accounts) A fresh install would consiste of sourcing in both load files. ------ NOTE: I tried it today with the lastest version 990 and it works fine. |
Sweet ... thanks Zandig, now to figure out how to back-up the char's ... I think I saw a util that could do just that.
