Melee Accuracy?
I've been out of the loop a while but I recently started rebuilding my server and playing some newbs from the beginning with some friends and I've noticed that melee accuracy is a joke... Was never a problem on the previous builds (uhh 944 I think might have been the last I used? Not really sure) but the latest March one and the June releases have both had the same problem... basically everything auto-attack related for melee hits maybe 1 in 30 tries on anything even vaguely close to my level... within 3 or 4 levels of me that is. Not just a 'I'm not hitting as often as I should" type of thing but a true not even close to accurate... This has disadvantages playing a melee obviously, but also makes casting as a caster kind of insane since you can cast through some 4 or 5 mobs in the low levels because none of them are hitting you anyway...
Was wondering if this is a known issue (didn't see anything on the bug reports nor on searches) or if anyone knows if perhaps I fubar`ed something during installation that may have had this as a result (I downloaded the pre-built windows version, and I assume it's in the code not in the database?) Any info would be nice, Thanks PS This was a basically out of the box installation the only things I've changed were a double exp rule and thats about it... also using it on GM accounts if that matters although as little as I tested suggests it happens on non GM accounts as well. Also at low levels I was doing approximately half the damage in terms of max damage as I should have been doing... I.e. when using a 5 damage weapon I'd do 3-5 damage instead of 6-10 as it should be, this continued until level 6 where it 'magically' became fixed. Tested it with my monk and a shaman, monk used hand to hand as well as 1h blunt shaman used piercing, same results across both. |
Yeah i've noticed this too. Also, mobs that bash and kick do it at a rapid rate, chain-bashing sucks for casters pretty bad.

I don't believe melee accuracy equations changed since then.. though the formulas skew quickly if you start stacking stats on either the attacker or defender.
Mobs also use bash/kick whenever the cooldown is up.. I believe it's about 4-5 seconds, perhaps it could be upped a bit I dunno I'm not positive it matches client side timers. |
yes i have noticed that DEX and STR are HEAVILY affected when they are pass 100 mark
me and friend started 2 chars Ranger and Bard. My ranger: 100 STR, 75 DEX His Bard: 110 DEX, 65 STR indetical weapons both char lev 8 both chars have maxed skills His bard hits all the time - well i say 75%+ but he does about 1/2 of my dmg per hit, while my ranger MISSES 60% of the time, but hits land for close to full dmg all the time. |
