Need help settin up server for bro overseas
 

Trying to set up a working EQ Emu server on my computer before I mail all of the files to my brother who is in Iraq atm so can't play EQ. But I'm having troubles setting up MySQL, I'm following the walkthrough on this site so I've downloaded ActivePerl and installed it, entered the commands in the command box etc it installed properly...

My problem at the moment is when executing the server instance from MySQL's configuration wizard, at "Apply security settings" it's giving me error number 1045. Access denied for user 'root'@localhost using password:YES.

MySQL's first assumption is Window's Firewall but I've already disabled that, my first guess is that maybe I have to open port 3306 for TCP inside my router?

If anyone can help, or better yet, if there is a way to circumvent this when you're not setting up a server for other people to connect to, simply to use on one computer, that would be even better.

A little side question, he's got a laptop over there so it's not precisely a fast computer... would he be able to run EQ Emu with 1 or 2 zones hosted at a time?
