Help with a timeout error during login...
Ok, I did some searching, on the forums and found a few that had problems like mine, but they either patched to live, or did something wrong.
So, I installed EQ Titanium... Changed the EQhost.txt file to [LoginServer] Host=eqemulator.net:5998 Then created a shortcut to my desktop for eqgame.exe with the patchme at the end of the path target. I logged in and tried to log in with the LSAccount i created here and it gives me a time out error. I check the forums and do a search and read a the posts that seemed relevent to the problem I was having. I allowed EQ through my firewall... not too sure what else to do or if I amd doing something wrong. Anyone have any suggestions? |
You have tried different servers, or are you trying to connect to your own Public server?
If your own server, you can check the server logs to see what they report about your client (IPs and such). If someone elses, maybe they were down for the moment... I usually use The Grand Creation as a way to test that I haven't set something up wrong. They seem to be a fairly consistent server. |

Oh, hee hee. Sorry.
So you are entering your name, pwd, and never see the login server at all? Since there is no eqgame.exe error, it's not something obvious. On your router/firewall, do you have IP logging enabled? You might be able to check your outgoing log, see if your IP is trying to get to eqemulator.net at all. If not, your PC firewall is still blocking you. Otherwise, you can also try deleting eqclient.ini and letting the client create a new one. Maybe something is messed up with the resolution (which usually causes me to get a crash in eqgame.exe though). |
i am also having this problem as i just have been trying to get on... followed the guide perfect and everything..
i have tried a different bunch of things as well, i connected to the angelox server with no problem at all, but when i try to connect to eqemu following the guide i keep getting that error message. help pls! |
It may sound dumb, but but, press enter after the Host=eqemulator.net:5998
then save it. |
that worked, dont understand how... but now it works.. thanks very much :D
