I currently have a uptodate version of EQ going and it works fine

i have also tried to set affinity to 1 cpu to the ever quest application but it comes up as access denied

Well i can't tell if you are playing EQLive or EQEmu... either way, i would venture a guess that its yoru graphics card drivers, DX or both.

As for EQ2, just do a quick search on these forums for it.. there is plenty of content to answer yuour questions.

First, go under your Everquest folder and delete your eqclient.ini file. This will cause the client to generate a new one based on your system.

If you have AMD, Google Dual Core issues for Windows XP. If you have Vista, this problem should not affect you. I cant rember the exact link but you will have to download a AMD driver patch and a Windows XP hotfix for your dual core issues.

Once that is done, double check your shorcut settins, eqhost.txt file, and your login name and password.

As far as EQ2 goes. Theres is a project in the works, but your going to need to go out and buy the game to play it Original with RoK expansion or posible a box set they may release here in November. We ask that even here. Now if the game is scarce and you can not obtain it, you can find other ways, but dont talk spefically about those other ways as in with forms of encrougement for software piracy. Dont want to incur the wrath of SOE now do we.
