Fix For Login Crashes...!!!

hello just checked out this site today and seen alot of ppl that had a crash soon as they hit login ....i had the same error what i did is when into EQ folder and used the EQoption editor and it will tell you at top how much memory ya have and how many items should be checked for graphics...i used default to fix it then edited it later which gave me bad graphics until i logged in and out and tweeked it....also on next page disable dynamic lighting or any special lighting will help alot of low end comps...or errors hope this helps.

most people are suffering from "hardware" issues. its mostly due to a survey packet that cause eqgame.exe to crash.

Thanks for the tip though, surely it will help someone at some point in time.

Fixed

When I first got back a couple months ago I had the crash problem alot. Sometimes it would take me 20 times to get logged in. About a month ago I saw the "Is this thing working" poll and I clicked yes and I have not had one eqgame crash from then on. I run a 800 mhz machine with just under 500 ram and my graphics driver is a little out of date. So I am thinking the core problem is not hardware.

Yep, as been discussed a ton of times. The fortunate ones that have clicked and answered that survey are in the clear, as our LS accounts have been flagged and are ready to go, it the people that are trying to get the survey, but its botch and the titanium client crashes. Purely LS!!!

Turning off survey packets seems to fix it for everybody. Not ONE crash since.
