Blank server select screen

I cannot seem to get to choose any server today.
I was able to last night =/
I tried to change the host but that did nothing.
Any idea's?

No one flame btw,
I tried to search and I cannot find anything that is relevent or helpful in the slightest of ways.

Update:
I can login to mini servers but not
Host=eqemulator.net:5998

For some reason that is not working for me.

I am having the same problems, last few days anyway.

Giopawa 08-19-2007 11:34 PM

Interesting.
Started for me about 2 or 3 days ago, most likely 2.
I have ran through most options.
I checked my McAfree, that was not it.
For some reason I think port 5998 is not allowed access to my computer or something. I am going to see if I can bypass it with my router, not sure though. If this does not work I am just going to assume I am fucked and EQEmu is no more for me.

Please let me know if that works for you, My brother is having the same problem. When he brings his pc to my house perfect he can see all servers, But at his house 0 servers. So i have not quite narrowed down the problem.
Thanks

Did you edit your eqhosts.txt file, and hit the [enter] key after the eqemulator.net:5998 ?

Some people have reported that no CRLF at the end of that line is causing problems.

Yeah I Tried that but I would think that it must be related to the ISP and nothing to do with the login server, For the simple fact I take the same PC 2 different ISP's Works great with My ISP and Not my brothers. Who knows lol :D

well if anyone else has some info they could add would appreciate it

I had this two nights ago and sporadically last night. I had traced it to a comcast.com router that was packetlossy, so gave up for the night. Its fine again today :)

Okay this fixed it for me (Or I believe this is what fixed it)
I run off of Comcast
My Router is a Linksys.
I went into the router and selected "Port Forwarding" or whatever it is titled.
I put port 5998 as the start and end port allowed to bypass the router at any time.
It has worked wonderfully every since then.

So, check the router and check your firewalls.

most the time the router is 192.168.1.1 or 0.1
just type start / run/ ipconfig and see what the gateway is.
the once you log into the router you can port forward that port.

Thanks so much for the info going to pass this along to by brother and hopefully it gets him up and running also.
Thanks again for the update

...or it could just be an amazing coincidence.

If port forwarding works, then it's not the emulator, your ISP or your cable modem... but your Router that likely needs to be reset (which it does when you save config). Hmm. Keep us informed. Could be another good fix.
