Short_Name
 

Okay...I am convinced this is a bug...

I am trying to create a zone with the shortname of "stagea" and I want it to direct you to the zone, or "file_name" qeytoqrg. Now the problem is, for some reason its not going along with anything that I try...

I changed the shortname to stagea, I changed the file_name to NULL and I went off zone number. Didn't work.

I changes the shortname to stagea, and I changed the file_name to match the zone I want. Didn't Work.

Please if ANYONE has any information about this, Please let me know.

And on a side note, if you use FQAdmin, the option to change the "short_name" isn't even avilable.

Short name= stagea
filename= qeytoqrg
lonename= what ever you want
zone number= unique number not already used


That should do it.

Tried that too...
And I also understand that the zoneidnumber isnt just some "random number" that they are used to distinguish the zones, not the filename...

The only way I have gotten just the zone itself to work is to put the ACTUAL short_name and the ACTUAL long_name and the ACTUAL zone_number.

Change any of those and it fails
